I think ranked thinks I am better than I am...

So I am new to the game, havn't played since 2012, and I was never really any good...

Well I came back, and I finally started to do some ranked and... Well, The game keeps matching me with Gold players... I am literally losing every top lane, feeding my butt off yet still winning and the game just keeps putting me against tougher and tougher opponents...

How do I fix this without making my team lose? I am tired of being screamed at all game, when I know I suck....

Fitting summoner name then.

I feel your pain. Hadn't played much since S4, went into S8 ranked. I was facing Plat 2/Diamond 5 players when I only had the skill of a Silver 2 player.

Just finish your promos and let yourself slide into the correct position. Think about your situation at a macro level, not a micro level.

Your team have the opportunity to learn better communication skills and how to play from behind. Your opponents have the opportunity to learn the importance of exploiting advantages and not throwing a lead.

Matchmaking is determined by ELO, not division. Don't worry if you aren't placed in the proper division after your placements, your ELO will trend towards it.

it means you're just good enough to keep your head above water and your team get the win. really you're doing nothing wrong.. if your teams are winning, then you are right where you should be.

Sounds like ur bad at laning phase (which is only part of the game) and it strengths are elsewhere

Are these your preliminary rounds? If so then your opponents get harder and harder until they put you in your rank.
