Is There A Way To Match 'Hardstuck' Players Together?

I realize the system is based purely off MMR, but most frequently when I lose it's because of that guy with 2,000 ranked games who's playing something ridiculous such as Miss Fortune middle lane. These games are almost always a waste of my time, yet it's enjoyable for that guy who thinks Miss Fortune Middle is the shit, so of course no matter how badly we start losing the Surrender is never coming through.

I'd really like to see a redesign on the matchmaking for players who are stuck or do not appear to even make an attempt to climb. There are many ways for the system to analyze and flag this behavior. For example:

  • Unusual picks for their selected role, with low win rates.
  • Many games on a champion with abysmal win rates.
  • Extreme amount of games within the same Tier (700+).
  • Unusual item purchases in lost games (i.e. AP Trundle).

Now, granted, I'm not here to say that these players don't deserve to play. Usually these are good people and there isn't anything wrong with them trying to enjoy playing the game their own way. The problem mostly lies in the fact that, most players don't want to be matched with players like this. More often and not, these types of people are not team players. Their builds and champion selections aren't helping their team (it's purely for their own satisfaction), and it's stressful as hell playing a game out with these people.

Anything under 200 games, isn't really a lot of games. When we start talking 700+ games in the same tier however, these guys are seasoned veterans at not winning. It doesn't matter what their win rate is, if you start Silver V then proceed to play 700 games, and you're still Silver V.. Like Jesus there's definitely a not so good factor at work here.

Once again, I'm not saying they shouldn't be able to play or that I feel they've done something wrong. What I'm saying is I firmly believe the system should heavily prioritize matching these players with others around their same number of games at their MMR. Being a "veteran" in a league doesn't make you good or more likely to be of benefit to your team, likely the opposite, so players who do not have many games really don't deserve to be matched with them.

Oh and, I am one of those guys with a lot of games, I'm almost at 400. Frankly, I don't care about climbing at all. It just feels bad when I look around at my teammates and see they're actually doing well climbing up and myself or 2,000 game MF Mid is about to come along and make their lives miserable.

The number of games you play in a Tier says more about you than even the fact that you are in that Tier. That guy who is Silver I with 15 games, could possibly be someone's Challenger Smurf. You can bet your ass though, that dude with 3,500 games in Silver V is most likely that one guy you are always praying you don't ever get matched with.

Sorry for my shit post. This matchmaking has been around for some years and hasn't changed a ton. Would really love to see some adjustments or improvements to spice things up for us.
