"Nerf them instead."
Jesus, the way I phrased it in the title is antagonistic. Sorry.
Getting right to the point... ...a lot of people have been saying "Just nerf 'em" in reply to all the balance problems and their sources. I even agreed, until I decided to play Swain or any other more "meta" champion I really, really liked.
Riot wants a game unlike DotA2, unlike SMITE even, where everything feels like it's reasonably powerful. Riot wants a game where everything everyone plays feels like it's incredibly strong in all the right (look at Kai'Sa and Swain for examples) ways and not a game where everyone feels "just as weak as everyone else."
Kai'Sa is an exemplary example of this. Despite her abysmal[sic] winrate, everyone I've asked says she feels amazing to play. The moment they set Icathian Rain up right, they see their enemies' health plummet like a rock, complete with really good audio/visual feedback.
Maybe the community (I won't pretend to say you are, though - I can't speak for you) are going at asking Riot to nerf things wrong - maybe instead of telling them to nerf something and/or suggesting how, we look for the things in-game that feel weak (in this case, fighters[sic], bruisers[sic], some mages[sic], some assassins[sic]) and ask them to buff it, complete with examples of what would add to their power-fantasy.
Think of it - what does
have in common with
and
? The feeling that the three of them can duke it out on equal terms... without any of them feeling like they're weak. Tell me I'm wrong - tell me it doesn't feel like you can perfectly outplay one with the other.
