Sylas on Launch

According to champion stats and item build sites like u.gg, metasrc.com and champion.gg, Sylas has a below 45% win rate and is very weak. This is according to his launch patch 9.2, which is ironic; typically reworked/new champions on launch patch are too strong.

Very interested to see Riot’s planned fixes. Maybe a longer E duration or more heal on the W. I just played him for the first time today. Q was fun, W healed too little (even below 40% health) and E was pretty neat besides a .5 second cc which is new in terms of time. R is very fun though.

Gotta wait till it stabilizes, usually takes 2-4 weeks, after that we will see, but on a side note, after playing him, he definitely has issues and i will explain a few

  • The ap ratio on his Q is too high, this is making people want to build him full ap when he's supposed to be more of a bruiser
  • His cooldowns are too long, even renekton has shorter cooldowns then this sylas, and for a champ that has to be in melee range, this is very bad (esp due to the severe lack of CDR on ap bruiser items such as RoA and hextec gunblade)
  • His E is actually shoter then the skill shot says it is, both casts in fact
  • His Ult takes too much of his power budget, like....i would rather sylas just have his own ult then steal other's as this means his kits effectiveness is dictated by the enemies picks Now i have though of some potential fixes for his kit that would help him fit the roles he wants to fill
  • Nerf his Q to 35% per tick and add a max hp ratio like 2-5% per tick and another 1% per 100 ap
  • Move the second cast of his E to his Q, and instead lower the cooldown on his E while reducing the ratio, feels really weird atm
  • Give his passive 2-3 stacks per spell cast, effectively improving his teamfight potential by ensuring that he doesnt have to spam his shit all at once to do any damage
  • Allow him to ult himself to get a basic ult for himself, nothing too op, but better then udyr or nidalees ult

This is true for literally every damn new champion. Everyone thinks new champs are weak when it's actually the players who ae bad with them. And rightfully so, since no one would have many games with someone who is brand new, especially when played by people who don't even take them to the practice mode.

Are you sure? For most of the champions' first patch after release, they are usually part of the lowest winrate group of champions. The cause is usually more than just an underpowered champion. Because Sylas is a new champion, not many people know how to play him effectively making his winrate tank. I have not tried Sylas yet so I cannot determine if he is strong or weak myself, but just something to consider.

When bronze players gonna stop rate the champion based on their Winrate's?
