Xin Zhao Rework Revert

I used to main Xin Zhao, but since the rework. I feel like the champion is no longer the same champion I once loved. I enjoyed being able to choose when I want to boost his attack speed with W, but since it got moved to his E I no longer have an on demand attack speed boost if there is no nearby target. His once legacy to be known as a big AA champion is no longer there. He used to have higher base stats, so all you really had to build was CDR and Attack Speed. His current W puts him in a very awkward position where he animation locks himself, and there is no fluidity. Because a lot of damage is put on to his W, it puts you in a position where do you want to use it and risk allowing enemies to catch you during that animation. His old R gave him resistances that were very beneficial whether it was a 5v5 or a 1v1 since it granted Armor and MR. Currently if he uses it in a 1v1 situation against a melee champion, all it does is deal damage and doesn't prevent any damage from the enemy melee champion during the 1v1 duel. His old kit felt like bread and butter, it was so fluid, so smooth. You never had to stand still for any second in time. Kiting the enemies, auto, move, auto, move. All I ask is that we revert Xin Zhao. Any constructive opinions are welcome.

I used to main Xin. I have over 500000 mastery on him from before, but now I barely played him these past 3 years. I agree about the rework. It was nice having your attack speed ability separate from the dash. The new W ruins auto attacking Rhythm and arguable offers little to any combat scenario save for a tickling ranged poke. What really hurt is the cutting of his passive damage in half from 80% AD to 45% AD every 3rd strike.

It's hard to keep track of all the patches, but he did more damage before with better stats and with the lack of the new W, his attack speed buff WAS the W and was not tied to the dash, and combined with the R splitting whoever's isn't marked, you had much control over your auto attacking buffs, your own positioning, and the positioning of your enemies. Now, the attack speed buff tied to my Dash means that attack speed buffing constitutes to an all in, and the reduced damage means I don't win many of them. Xin Zhao played better in the tank meta where I played him like a drain tank with lifesteal where the counter was CC. In today's Meta, Xin doesn't have the burst to compete with other champions, and Runes Reforged has me playing with less armor and magic resists from my runes page compared to before.

I do like Olaf now as a substitute because of the passive armor and magic resist on his R. I can play him like a drain tank and feel like I'm playing good old Xin Zhao with lifesteal. The resists help me to get settled in an auto attack, lifestealing rhythm, and very few champs save for Jax during his R or Olaf while not ulting will have those resists available with a lifesteal item build.
