Kennen changes. opinions? kennen players
The rework done on kennen recently is appalling. Kennen has a small following, and because of this usually only very skilled kennen mains play the age-old champ. As a result his stats are pretty high since the people playing him have been honing their mechanics for years. This is still no reason to nerf the poor little guy. It may seem minor to developers or people who don't play kennen often, but for the small pool of players who main kennen the shortened range on his W takes away a great deal of his versatility. Riot has gone too far in enforcing the meta and giving champions one job to fulfill. Kennen was amazing because he could do a little bit of everything, but now he's only good for diving into teamfights.
There's no more quick stun combo (Q, aa, w). doing this would ensure that as long as you can land a Q then successfully auto attacking right after casting and then clicking w WOULD stun them (even if they flashed)...now his W range is so short if they back up you have to chase them down and burn your escape.
there's no kiting people who have marks on them and using your W to re-engage and out play. Now you have to take high risk situations and basically remain in the danger zone for long periods of time to successfuly set up plays.
there's no using the longer range on your W to cc people who dash or flash away from you while you're catching them out. I played kennen with every catch out comp. building movement speed on that little guy was amazing. nobody would get away from you, and if they did you'd just W them with rylais and catch up...but now he's not difficult to escape from.
These changes take away from his versatility and what define him to me and many other kennen mains - a guerilla tactic champion. I get that you're enforcing a meta and a defined way to play a champion, but this nerf....which is kennens second (shortened aa range in s2)... just ruins my favorite champion completely...he's now only good for close range peel or diving. I had a lot of fun going within enemy mages range to Q them then kiting them while I wait for an ally and using W to re-engage. Now he's all in or bust. Kennen was such a ninja before - constantly dancing the line of enemies max spell or aa range and going 50-100 units in to Q and then getting out before diving back in. Now he has to stay in the danger zone to assure they can't escape, and is put in high risk scenarios where he HAS to use his E to engage rather than save it for an escape. I have many suggestions for kennen - I've been playing the little guy since season one. I play him every lane every role, and would be more than willing to collaborate on him. The second most recent re-work (quality of life - as you called it) was amazing, but this one has gone a little too far with what I assume is ignorance to what made kennen the most amazing ninja squirrel in gaming history.
Riot. You did buff kennens teamfight. I'll give you that. I appreciate taking away the randomness and making it easier to kill adc's if I get close enough to them...but you've hindered his amazing roaming, catching out, and almost everything that makes him a ninja. It's hard to appreciate the great contribution he makes to team fighting when you're forcing me to constantly dive with him or be susceptible to enemy poking when I'm trying to set up my stuns without diving. He does more damage in temafights, yes...his ult is more reliable and will do more sustained damage to their entire team...yes, but to balance this you've inadvertently taken away a large portion of kennens higher skill cap micro-mechanics that made him fun to play. Not to mentions he's basically useless without his ult now, and if you build cooldown reduction on kennen you're playing him so so wrong.
currently going to look into playing kennen as a tank again. The best I can do with this kennen is hybrid tank kennen unless I want to conform and make the same play over and over and over with kennen. E flash ult and chase down....
