I for one love the new queue system
Now, because I want to keep bias out of this let me start with a couple of the negatives I have noticed.
- If you have a ban selected but not locked in when the timer runs out, you will be d/ced from the lobby
- Time in the lobby has actually been increased by a little bit because of the new ban system
- If you queue with your secondary role as support, you will almost always be support
But let's look at the positives
- You are WAY more likely to get your role than you were before
- You get time to discuss strategy in the lobby instead of just spending all of your time fighting over who goes where
- From my experience at least, finding a full queue is actually a lot faster than before
- Even if you end up as support from that being your secondary, at least you had at least SOME interest in being support
- Bans are a bit more dynamic, giving the rest of your team something to do during the lobby, and making sure they have their fair say
- Trolls can be more easily tracked and punished
- Having everyone declare their champions can lead to much better team synnergy as people switch champiions to compliment each other in advance
Overall, the new system seems to be succeeding in all of the goals Riot laid out upon its reveal. Good job, Riot.
