Jayce adc

So new jayce one trick here. I have friends I play with who is a katarina one trick and another who is tryndamere one trick. When I play with them, would it be okay to go jayce adc? (I was an adc main before one tricking jayce). Only discovered this problem a few days ago and I played a traditional adc just to be safe instead. I'm also the only one who can play/has experience with adc in my friend group so yeah, I'm usually stuck with it.
