@Ghostcrawler; patch rate feedback

Hey Ghostcrawler,

Just finished your more recent dev diary, and I was hoping to get a thread going about the feedback you requested concerning the rate of change in League. I'll just start by briefly stating my own opinion; I think the patch rate is great. It's the content in those patches that should be the focus of the discussion, at least for dedicated players.

I can think of a lot of instances where some champs were nerfed "too fast" and others are "not nerfed fast enough." I thought about typing out a bunch of examples, but I realized that would probably bog down the thread in details that kind of miss the point. After all, there is VERY poor consensus about most of those examples.

The point I want to make is that a two-week patch cycle is brilliant, but I think that many players are sometimes confused by what gets left out of those patches. My biggest "pain point" is the way that supports work. Support isn't a terrible role, but I think there's opportunity for Riot to really improve that role. I know it takes time to improve that stuff, but personally, I would love to see more long-term focus on those sorts of changes in the future.

The development of ChampUp teams shows me that Riot concluded the same, so I'm really not complaining. I think y'all are doing a great job. Two thumbs up. I guess the take-away is this; I'd rather see the outdated systems get updated even if it comes at the cost of perfect balance on any given patch. And I think you generally agree.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the future of League. I've been playing since Spring of 2012 and haven't gotten tired of it yet, so keep it up! I deeply appreciate the increase in communication, update rigor, and attention to detail that I see you all putting into the same, on every team from skins to live balance. I notice the difference, and I think it's great.
