Matchup Study

In my first season I mained support (I'm Top/Jg now) so I could focus on positioning, warding, and general awareness. During that time I learned to keep track of the abilities in bot lane to best find openings to go on the offensive and win trades hard.

I want to expand my knowledge of these openings to all champions/lanes now that I've learned wave control, zone-awareness, and can CS well enough with my champion pool.

I rarely lose lane as I tend to out CS or go even with my opponent but I also don't take over the lane without setting up the jungler for an easy gank. I've noticed as a solo player I can't depend on the jungler to get our snowball rolling as I can with one of my own guys.

My philosophy is to stack every advantage in my favor before engaging and to punish opponent mistakes. I don't go for high risk plays. To this end I need to recognize opponent mistakes and openings.

Is there any source where I can learn champion matchups not at a statistical level but a practical gameplay level?

I could just study cooldowns and the raw numbers, but I feel that doesn't always give me the clearest picture.

i feel that the best way to know any characters cool downs and damage, is just play as many of the characters as you can and get a feel and idea of how long each ability takes to get off cool down and to get a very rough estimate of their damage, dont be afraid to diversify your champ select and roles a little bit to know the game better.
