The changes that Broke Botlane and how to Undo them.

Honestly, people by now have seen These kinda Posts a lot. You've all seen These "Why ADC's are so strong" or "ADC shouldn't be this strong" Posts, you've all probably made one yourself.

My post is simply going to list all those points together in one thread for better view and for possibly easier Revelation of changes that could undo or correct what exactly went wrong.

So, first, the most notably mentioned Things as to Why exactly ADC's got strong, or for lack of better words, which mistakes were made:

  • Their natural Counters lost the one Thing that made them a Counter;

Long story short, Riot had to give assassins delay which in turn broke their balance a lot more. Leblanc became a full mage instead of being an assassin. Rengar evolved into an even worse balancing nightmare than before, so much that riot officially reclassified him as a fighter, Shaco was utterly gutted to the point where only the mains can still make him viable vs a fairly good enemy team that knows what they do. Essentially the only Thing that kept ADC's in check was put to chains. The one reason why assassins were prominent and strong was because they could pull off their combination in quick succession to secure maximum damage on a single target. (except for Katarina, gg ez pentakill). And riot took that away and instead transformed half the assassins into split pushing farmmachines. Leblanc was not meant to have waveclear and not meant to be a mage either. Yet here she is now, doing both those Things because she no longer has true burst sequences to proc. it does not help that her Passive, when triggered, does not count as a spell, meaning you cannot W-Q for a thunderlords proc but Need to overextend to land an AA ontop of it, which will get you caught in any form of CC, meaning you cannot go back to your W starting point, getting you killed. for what? a Little fucking extra damage that is necessary for you and even then probably won't seal the deal. It just serves as an example that riot wanted assassins to possess delay in their kits so much that they did not reconsile on how much damage they inflicted on the initial balance. Which i won't hold up a grudge against, but many many of you do. Old rengar balance could have gone very much simple. just do his Q how they did Camille Q, disable crit procs on it alltogether and tadaa. he would be fine.

  • Tanks gradually got weaker due to items receiving ongoing health pool nerfs, but were compensated with not-even-close-to-enough resistance buffs.

Again, simple Explanation. One big point of any tank and bruiser is their health pool. It is literally a core point. health, armor, Magic resistance and crowd control. But with riot going on and on about nerfing the health items to enforce more tanks into buying item 3193 to double their health-bars, but, at the cost of any Little damage they have. (except for chogath since true damage is immune to reductions). That Sejuani who's power had halfway had shifted into her own damage with a fucking % Max health Magic damage tick that procs from a literal point& Click 2 second stun gets to deal not even half of it's damage as an "balanced" compensation for her to be able to tank the enemy enough. Whilst the enemy carries laugh at your pathetic attempts to soak shit up because you have 250 armor but can't get past the 3k health bar range and they just mow you to the ground with item 3036 and item 3812. And even the grievious wounds on item 3075 does not really stop them much. Even if it half's the healing. half of 500 lifesteal per auto is still 250 hp the adc restores PER AUTO ATTACK because of all the godforsaken damage they can stack against the tank which is rewarded with what leads to the third point

  • Lifesteal became overly prominent and dominating

You heard me right. Damned will i be to be saw'd back into bronze if this point is not even mildly true. What makes AD carries so out of control mainly is that their absurd damage rewards them with equally absurd sustain, which can escalate to the point that it may be considered to be called tankyness even. Since the new warlord's Blood lust got released it is common as all hell to see an AD carry heal up for 1/4 their health bar at Level fucking 9 because they got one lucky crit with just item 3031 and item 3006 as their items. But that's not all. The reason why lifesteal is so broken at the moment is because it ADDITIVELY stacks with one another. There have been comps where you can literally on an average meta Build have over 50 god damn % lifesteal on a single champion which only gets worse when you consider half the adc's have AA empowerings which also trigger lifesteal, take draven as the prime example. Death's dance and blood thirster rushes with warlords on him are so common now that you can and will get insulted if you do not rush those Things first because of how fucking forsaken all the lifesteal is. Why? Heh, because his AA empowering axes proc 100% of the applied lifesteal additionally to his auto attack damage dealt. And the same applies to EVERYONE. why do you think twitch has such a brutal winrate? Because come mid and lategame all that lifesteal procs on legitimately every 5 man auto he lands when his ultimate is activated. Screw he pentakills in 6 to 10 shots (praise frostprime), the fact that he can heal himself 4 times over while doing so is the main issue.

Now that we have the sweet complains, seasoned with a bit of salt cough cough, out of the way, now to the solutions, which in itself are really damn easy if you have thoroughly read the complain points.

But, since half of the Readers do not, i will be humble enough to write it on my own accord glad to remind you with actually listing them.

  • Give Assassins back the lack of Momentum for a fluid execution.

Fair and simple. Assassins lost their touch halfway because of the delay. Simply Strip it back and come up with simpler ways to give counterplay, like, make their damage more situational. Take Zed for example. The reason why he is regarded as the adonis of Assassin Design is because he basically is. His ultimate damage relies on you hitting your skills, his passive only procs once all few seconds on Targets below 50% health, his E slows only if the shadow hits, and not zed, and his Q damage is more rewarding towards a single target, preferably the one you Ulted. He has both engage and escape which are safe and give him lots of mobility while not making it too broken by having the range be average when compared to most. His damage is Very situational due to Death mark and relies on good Skill to successfully land it while also requiering quick choice as to where you fire it. the longer you take to shoot your Q the easier it is to dodge it, assuming you would not miss it on your own accord. If more assassins would be designed around their damage being situational instead of having a delay that gets them killed well before they even begin to roll the ball, then Things would be looking a lot merrier.

  • Return tanks their Health or give them compensatory Tools to make resistance stacking rewarding

At this point even the full armor malphite is starting to be a joke. what use is 600 armor when you barely scratch 3k health, the enemy has black cleaver and their adc has blood thirster, probably also deaths dance and item 3036 to still shred you down in enough AAs that we can count in a single hand. Tanks at this point only can stack HP by going jungle because of cinder hulks bonus health boost. And the only tanks who can effectively raise stats while keeping a high health pools are sion and chogath and that is because they can infinitely stack them. Which is why they are currently strong. Sion may still be okay since his health stacking relies on heavy csing, essentially making him nasus v2. But chogath? oh nonono. He gets rewarded with health by one button-ing whoever he pleased. Even thought their health stacking takes time, it is infinite and not conditional per say. for sion, the speed of the ammount he gains is limited, and for chogath the source he gains it from is limited. but in the end all they have to do is last hit, chogath with his ult specifically.

  • Give Tanks more Tools of defence, like damage reduction.

Oh and what would definetly do some good would be removing a bit damage to give more Tools to soak damage. I See only one single tank-ish champion so far who has damage reduction in his kit and that is galio. Garen is a juggernaut and warwick is a fighter. Most tanks either have cc or shields, but both can be played around and avoided quickly, and having said that, tanks are the only classes who have no failsafe when fucking up. Assasins have their mobility, fighters have either executions or Tools to support fighting for their Advantage, adc's have lifesteal, supports have peel and disengages Hell even mages have some form of defence, xerath has a stun that is, mind me, easier to hit the closer someone is, ahri has 3 flashes, vel'koz has a mini knockup, orianna has a very reliable disposition ult and a shield on a very low cooldown. Syndra has a literally "fuck off" AoE disengage. What do tanks have? Yeah, chew on that for a moment.

  • Nerf Lifesteal for ranged champs

No Explanation needed. Lifesteal is very rewarding and even promising to Ad carries. a simple way to nerf it without breaking and/or nerfing melee champs would be to lower it's effectivy for ranged champions. Maybe reduce the effectivity to like 2/3 of the value for any ranged attacks. Simple, effective, not meta breaking.

HOWEVER while all of these problems are a Thing, fixing only one at a time will be the deal. if we applied multiple, if not all changes at once it would break adcs, from op broken into useless class broken. So whatever changes are to happen, it should happen carefully and over time. If league has demonstrated one Thing the most, it is that sudden big changes will only hurt the game more than it helps.

That would be all, peace i'm out.

PS: Leave me a comment with what you think. am i right? am i wrong? Should i Keep my "nerf ivern" memes up? lowkey making Irelia jealous. heh

Edit: I can tell by how fast i got the downvotes upon releasing this post that people do not even read past the title. I would very welcome it if people actually read what is said before giving the thumbs down. As far as i am concerned, conversing is promoted, not prohibited.
