Riot, can you please be honest about your matchmaking??

After my most recent match I am absolutely 100% convinced that you have an algorithm set up to keep your players overall win rates at (or as close as possible) 50%.

There is literally no possible way that its a coincidence that every single time I go on a winning streak, my next few games are filled with some of the worst teammates imaginable. I may have once thought that this was just the way my luck worked out, but I've noticed a very VERY steady trend with this game over my 2 years of playing it.

Once you win 2-3 games in a row, the games start to get harder and harder to carry until your teams reach such an astounding level of trash that they are literally impossible to carry. And this happens EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Then, you lose a couple of games, and suddenly your teammates are competent again. As I've said, this literally happens ALWAYS. ALWAYS. ALWAYS.

So I only have 2 questions for you. Will you please admit that your games are often times set up for a certain team to win? And will you please explain why?

Because it does not make an ounce of sense to me that you would set up a game where either team clearly has the edge. Would it not make more sense to set every game up to give either team a (or as close as possible) 50% chance of winning or losing? I cannot stress enough how painful it is to absolutely KNOW that because you've won your last 4 games in a row that you are probably going to lose your next one. And if you win that one by some miracle, the odds in the next one will be stacked even higher against you. Its gotten so bad that I'm actually afraid to report my teammates because I wouldn't be surprised if you are using that data to know what people to match players on winning streaks with.

I've FINALLY uninstalled your game. It took me over 2 years to do it, but I have to move on with my life. I finished last season Silver III and went 5-5 in placement matches and you guys threw me back to Bronze V. Why? What about that makes ANY sense whatsoever? I cannot climb out of Bronze for the THIRD time. Especially when I can't win more than 4 games in a row without getting the absolute worst possible teammates you can imagine.

I've watched over the last 2 years as you've made good decisions and bad. I've watched as you've ignored your east coast players cries to help with their astoundingly bad latency problems. I've watched as you've fixed things that needed fixing and fixed things that didn't. I've often offered advice, praise, and criticisms on these forums and I've been nothing but loyal to this game through the good and the bad. I love League of Legends, I've invested a large part of the last 2 years into this game but I've finally reached my breaking point.

Thanks for the good times and the bad times Riot. You've definitely made some questionable decisions through the years, but regardless, I've had fun playing your game. Keep on keepin on.

Sir can you please be honest and less biased when you post?

I searched you match history. last 10 games you won 6. The 4 games you lost, your team mates weren't getting wrecked. They put out decent KDA's. Beside judging by the ranks, both teams were EVEN. The LAST game you lost, you went 3-9 top lane to a 5-0 Cho. Cmon, you gonna blame Riot for bad team mates for that?

Yes, you do get paired up to better people once you start winning more than 50%. All to shift people around and get them to where they belong.

You win, your MMR(Match making Ratings) go up, and you get matched up with people who are at your MMR, simply because that is only FAIR.

You have been playing for TWO YEARS and you NEVER UNDERSTOOD THIS?

It does, but not for the reasons you are mentioning.

The primary goal of the matchmaking system is finding where you belong. Once you reach that point, you should win roughly half your games.

Whats funny is they do have a algorithm to try to make your matches as close to 50% as possible. This is called MMR. You have a hidden mmr that is matched against your opponents. If you beat someone with Higher mmr you gain mmr if you lose you lose mmr. This is called matchmaking. It is based on a ELO system. This is how they determine who you should be playing against.

However they don't match you with bad players on your own team. They just match you against hard people on the enemy team making it hard to win.

This needs to be done or you would see Diamonds pubstomping Bronze every game. Just because you want to be matched down so you can "carry" doesn't mean you should be.

If you can't understand MMR then go play a single player game.

You guys replying are full of it. Calling the OP noob and basically saying he's wrong 'because he's Bronze'. You are pathetic. Use your brain for a minute. Play 20 games in normal and record the Rank, using LoLking or other similar site, Win/loss, kda, and CS of each player, it will take less than 10 games for you to see how ridiculous the matching is,

and you will also realize the win streak - loss streak phenomena is real, play 2-4 good games, and see in that 5th game your teammates will be significantly worse than your last 4 games, and your enemies will probably also be significant better than the last 4 games. Do the same thing when you lose a few games in a row, and see that in your next games will have weaker enemies and/or stronger allies. This is NOT imagined, before you try to justify it for some reasons that are completely unrelated to this topic, TRY IT FOR YOURSELF, SEE HOW RIDICULOUS THE RESULTS REALLY ARE.

There is a reason LoL hides player rank, KDA/Winloss scores in the loading screen, it's not just so that people won't dodge when they think their team is unfair, it's because they're hiding the ridiculous matchup setups that are made all the time. A lot of people would quit playing if they recorded a few games on LoLking to see how the ridiculous the matches are.

This game is still fun with the broken matchmaking, but there are many times where the screwed up matchmaking will ruin any possible fun or fairness to have in a match. Instead of the typical replies 'you're noob you don't understand the system' shut your mouth and try a few test games record the results, you will see it is entirely real.

I spent a lot of time preparing and I definitely didn't do as well as I would have liked. Granted, some of the games I lost, maybe even most of them, were not my fault, but if I was even better, maybe I could have made those games wins instead. So far it appears that dealing with the various problems of each section may be more of a test of our personality than our skill.

The reason I claim that is because I played a lot of Dota 2, and I've noticed that players in that game rage far more often than in League of Legends. In Dota 2, they seem to lump together unfavored players with undesirable players, making the matchmaking extremely rigged and not fun. It's entirely possible that you are more skilled than other Bronze 5 players, but your lack of an attitude that they can appreciate, perhaps it's because you have horrible players for allies, I can only speculate, means that you lose games because you weren't friendly enough. Even if the loss was someone's fault other than your own, the entire team was to blame and you are just as bad as them because you didn't convince them of your intelligence.

Despite that you might actually know some basics about the game, you definitely have some flaws in your skills that you could work on. I could point out many details, but it's easier to just mention that your Tryndamere mastery page for sure has its share of flaws that are easily fixable. If 20 mastery pages aren't enough for you, perhaps you should reduce the number of champions you play ranked with until it is enough.

I don't think it's flawed. I went 4/6 in my placements and was placed in b5. if you can recognize your strengths and weaknesses you can pick a role you can carry from and go from there. I'm no pro by any means, i'm a lowly bronze player who finally decided to actually decided to take the time to asses myself and move up this year. the fact that i have almost a 60% win ratio kinda proves that if you're meant to move up you'll move up.

Thought Exercise: How do you make a system that does what you describe?

Seriously, walk me through how it would work using pseudo code.

Reason I ask, something like that would be ridiculously hard to pull off. Would love to hear a few theories on how a system like this could work!

Also, pretty sure match making will match you with people ~ your skill. When you go on a win streak, it slightly boosts your skill, and the skill of those you've been matched with. Sometimes people get lucky. You know all those threads written about how people would climb if their teammates didn't feed or afk? There's someone on the other team consistently getting free wins and randomly rising up because of that. From time to time, you'll get people that are out classed in your games. Randomly, you'll get strings of them. Which is sad, but I don't see you complaining about your win streaks where you probably got carried by a string of good players in your game. Over enough games, it'll balance out. Especially at the start of the season where you can have silver players and challenger players in the same game!
