Camping was a cheese-tactic 2-3 seasons ago
It worked in Silver> (at best) because wards there were simply seen as these magical things LCS players fart out every minute of so. Anyone above silver knew that all you had to do to avoid getting camped is pay 150g every 3 minutes.
Now its basically become the meta-defining aspect of the game; How Well Can You Dive? (by extension, Lane Dominance). And honestly I blame the decreased vision.
Sure vision is still a 'team effort', but god damn if you arent a support or jungler, what hope do you have of contributing to vision? Poop out a pissy little trinket ward for 30 seconds? OK its nice, sure, but thats somehow got to keep you safe for 5 minutes while it recharges? Oh yeah not to mention all the mobility creep. Junglers crossing the map in under 20 seconds, mid laners abusing the living daylights out of ghost.
Before if you were getting camped there were solutions that didnt involve sitting like a bitch in fountain. There were sufficient tools to give ENOUGH tactical information that a player could make decisions based on information they HAD.
Now its one big fuckfest of who's campsite is more popular, and towers don't help you, the trinkets don't help you, barring an inhuman level of clairvoyance, you will get completely boned by camp and you won't be able to do anything about it. Hell we are reaching a stage where bot is becoming: Pick shit that can murder towers in pre 12 minutes and GTFO of there!
