Why Complain?

I'll be honest here. The issue is the League community, NOT RIOT. Think about it just for a second. When has Riot actually done anything genuinely bad? I know you're all thinking, "But Bloxiefox, Riot is always buffing X champ and nerfing X champ and reworking champions that don't need reworks!". What I'm about to say may sound absolutely crazy, but it's all relative. Imagine this scenario: You are a Mastery 7 Rengar one trick. But suddenly, the evil Rioters decide to gasp NERF RENGAR. How outrageous! Time to go to the forums and make a whiny post about how braindead Riot is and how they have no idea what they are doing. Now, imagine the same situation but this time, you are a Caitlyn OTP. As soon as you open the patch notes, PRAISE GOD! RENGAR HAS BEEN NERFED! A champion that can jump on you and instantly destroy you, being the immobile ADC you are. You open up the forums and thank Lord Rito for nerfing your counter. This is an example of a situation where two people (or groups of people) can react very differently to the same situation. If a champion is completely busted, then Riot nerfs it to the ground, everyone's happy, right? Wrong, what about the people who main that champion? See, that's the issue with nerfing/buffing champions. Not everybody can be happy. So why not trust the company that brought us this game and just have fun with it.

I understand the message you're trying to get across, but the sarcastic scenarios are just unneeded. People will always complain in video games, but the fact is that Riot is a decent company, even if saying that means I'll get downvoted.

A good example of a bad company (or at the very least, one that's slipping) is JaGeX, the developers of RuneScape 3 and Old School RuneScape. One of their developers was caught stealing wealth and untradeables, giving unique names to clan members (example being an account named "Magic" or "Chris", which would be highly sought after just for the simplicity, rarity, and originality of their names.) and putting the rest of the community at risk. Just felt like sharing that for comparison of how Riot isn't a bad company.

(The developer, Mod Jed, was previously a very high ranking member of one of the most hated PvP clans, later promoted to game developer much to the dismay of most of the community, to make the situation even worse.)

There are metrics that don't like such as winrates and pick rates and banrates. Riot has claimed to be buffing/nerfing champions based on these factual metrics (Generally on plat+ statistics unless some champion is overly dominant in lower elos) Now when they act in a way that contradicts this narrative it is surely not surprising to assume the majority of the player base will be sceptical. Granted to their defense they came out lately saying they are balancing this patch (or maybe 2 patches not sure on this but it doesn't matter) with pro-play mostly in mind, which is fine because they came clean and said "We know these champions do not need buffs but we are doing it anyway to have more interesting(/flashy) worlds matches. The main problem comes when they do not address certain champions that clearly fall under the Must-ban or Must-nerf category based on their Plat+ world wide stats while at the same time not letting anyone know their reasons .

This is my opinion and is not meant to spite anyone, I am merely trying to further the discussion by providing my PERSONAL view of when it is understandable to whine about changes/not changes. Cheers
