Alistar is literally the best jung that I've ever played with
Before you disregard him as valid, let's take a look at some facts:

He doesn't need farm to be viable (His ult will provide PLENTY of capability to stay in fight long enough to CC everything to hell)

If enemy is sitting under their tower, pop ult and go right in and get the first hit....guaranteed kill if your lane knows how to follow up.

It's damn near impossible to escape his ganks - If you can get in and Q them into the air, then you have enough time to W them to your team. If not, you can easily W and immediately Q for a quick knock up and stun.

Once you build into dead-mans plate (which is usually my 3rd item following boots and jungle item), you have enough speed to CONSTANTLY gank

Points 1+4 make you a nightmare for the enemy team - you're just roaming most the time, popping ult to dive a tower and soak damage, then waiting for your team to come in and fuck them up
Because of this, I've been going 4/3/28 (or close to) in all these games. Your gold will come from constantly ganking. Please, Riot, don't EVER nerf Ali - if anything, you should give his passive the ability to damage jungle monsters....I think it's sad that you don't allow that.
