How Do You "TryHard"?
How do you even tryhard? Do you do risks and all that?
How do you even tryhard? Do you do risks and all that?
Tryharding is playing to your utmost. Focusing on the game, avoiding mistakes, and punishing enemy disadvantages.
it's usually used as a derogatory when the enemy feels like they're at an inherent disadvantage(or they just want to be an ass). Example, "tryharding" when your opponent is down a player. It also gets used when people on the other side claim to be "trolling," when you are using an "OP" champion, etc. (Or just when they are losing and want to try and laugh it off because they're a failure.)
When I don't tryhard I'll roam for too long, or stay in lane well past the end of the lane phase. I'll wander in the enemy jungle and wait in a bush to see if anyone comes by.
When I do tryhard I roam to other lanes and immediately head back to my lane, to avoid as little CS loss as possible. I'll push towers down only while my team is applying pressure elsewhere on the map, and I'll only fight if I know I'm at least relatively safe. I'll still place deep wards, but only when the enemy jungle and mid are visible or dead, and I'll only go looking for kills out of lane if I see the kill to begin with.
To me it's all about risk and reward. If I tryhard I'll try to maximize my reward while minimizing my risk, where as when I'm not trying my very best I'll do things that are very risky and might only have a mediocre reward, like wait in a bush for two minutes as Garen just so I can make a bush Garen joke over skype. It's worth to me, but will probably set me and my team behind compared to where we would have been.
Trying hard is trying to win, if you're not trying hard you're just casually playing, or trolling kind of. Someone who calls others 'tryhards' is just a way for them to get their stress out.
Some people assume that when someone is flat out trying to win the game they are " a tryhard " not sure why but meh. Risks are a whole different story, it's like flipping a coin and landing a head or tails, but it is you who decide to either flip the coin or not.
"Tryhard" is what people that spam "surrender" say when people don't want to surrender.
People tend to call whoever is beating them a try-hard, especially if they make intelligent decisions to cripple their opponent or play out situations properly.
For example, I was once called a tryhard after:
They didn't like that I was beating them so badly or using my advantage properly; thus, I was a tryhard.
Enemy team trying out an off-meta comp, or just their ADC playing ADC for the first time? Better 5-man camp their botlane all day, because it's all in for the competitive-ness!
5 man ganking me when I'm top afk farming waiting for 20 minutes when 2 of my teammates have DC'd/ragequit and the score is like 15-0.
Make no mistakes. No wasting time by BMing. Playing your absolute best. Doing absolutely everything you can do to win. To truly tryhard you cannot tilt because this influences your gameplay.
So it's basically focusing on the game, taking objectives, trying hard, determination, and get kills?
