The possible issues of continuously creating new champs

Hey guys! Today I just wanted to make a post about the possible issues of adding so many champs to League, and I'd like to see your feedback!

Also, I know that this may get posted a lot, or maybe I don't, I'm new to the boards, pls have mercy.

So, as all of us know, a new champ can get released every few months, with reworks weaved in between, but doesn't that create issues? For example, eventually there could be the problem of, just not enough ideas that are unique enough to use for champs. Now this can go many ways in terms of the game. For example, Riot wants to release a sick new cool champ, but then, every possible move that could fit that champ's kit is already present in another champion's kit, but possibly in a slightly different form. IE: Ashe's ult and Jinx's ult. Or like almost any laner's Q, which are almost always linear skillshots, take Kennen's Q, Gnar's Q, Zed's Q, and Ekko's Q to an extent. So what happens when there can't be any more linear skillshots or a bunch of champions have already used most of the possible abilities for a champion based on their lore? We'll have to find out that through time, but maybe Riot won't always be able to make extremely unique champions, like Illaoi, or Vel'Koz, who have pretty cool kits that are pretty unique. So, back to the original question, what could that mean for the game? Honestly, I think that at the current pace new champions are being made, the game could get really stale in a few years, with all of the newer champions effectively being similar to many other champs in terms of kits and uses for the champion. Many champions will also be forgotten for slightly better "meta" picks or just become stale, if anything, Riot it's possible that in a couple of years, if League is still a game, all a champion's moves could be recycled and re textured, with only different lore's.

Now another issue with continuously creating new champs. Balance. The one thing all of us think about when we get one shotted by that FizzFizz or RengarRengar , or when Garen literally Q and E and you straight up get deletedGaren . With Riot implementing new champions into the game, each having a different feel, or play style, don't you think it would become difficult to keep perfectly balanced? For example: We now have a bunch of champions, and champions from now have fallen out of play for other, newer champs. Lets say that a champion like Gnar, for example becomes under powered, and Riot decides to buff him. He's now able to hold his own in lane, but outside of lane, regardless of being fed, he can destroy and slightly under powered AD carry. So to compensate for all of this, a buff, or possible nerf train keeps going, attempting to keep many champions in play, but also not making it that they stomp outside of the lane phase. So here is where the dilemma hits, how is anyone going to keep all of this balanced? Now I know about counter picks, and that's not the reason that this is being made, more like, if you're champion is supposed to get heavily countered by another of equal skill, but your champion stomps them in lane because they are still under powered and cannot win a fight. Now that was a mess, but the point is that how will Riot be able to keep all of this balanced, while still being able to introduce new stuff and keeping that balanced as well, I think it'd become rather difficult.

As one last, slightly less concerning issue about creating new champs, how is Riot going to be able to fit all of them into the lore properly? I mean, the Lore can be expanded through events like the Mount Targon one, or the Bilgewater events, but soon enough, every new champion is gonna be from the one of the few places on Runaterra. Either the Freljord, Shurima, Ionia, Noxus, Demacia, Piltover, Shadow Isles or Zaun. Forgive me if I missed one or two, or maybe more honestly I don't know. I mean, we already have a bunch of champions from each place but honestly I think this is a minor issue as every champion can be extremely different in Lore, I mean, we have a bunch of champions, like Hecarim and Karthus, both of which I believe come from the Shadow Isles, but they almost have no connections in Lore, as I can remember.

How can Riot stop this? Well, Riot necessarily can't but they can stall it for a really long time, but just being a bit slower on champion releases, but honestly that's entirely their choice.

TL;DR: a few problems with making new champions.

Any Feedback is appreciated guys, thanks for reading, and sorry for the wall of text.

They've already drastically reduced their release cadence since S1, 2, and 3 and I'm guessing they have a plan lore-wise. We're starting to see lore stuff now with lots more to come.

starts naming very specific abilities

Not really.

You're looking at things way too closely. It's not whether abilities are similar or not, it's how they function within the rest of the kit. It's like complaining that Nami's Q is a lack of creativity when you compare it to Cho'Gath's Q. If you ignore the fact that even AP Nami can't turn one well aimed Q into a deathtrap for the opponent that an AP Cho can do, if you ignore that Cho'Gath is a melee Tank and Nami is a ranged and oftentimes squishy support, if you ignore that Cho'Gath's W is set up for his Q which is set up for his Ult where Nami can only really set up her Q through her Ult, you're missing out on way too much.

I can rant on this all day really. Kha'Zix compared to Tristana, Elise to Nidalee, Trundle to Kindred, almost every ability in the game I can guarantee you there is a parallel somewhere else, and you won't even notice because for that champion's entire kit, that same ability takes on a whole new life.

I'm going to assume you are either a Mid Lane main or an ADC main. Either way, that is in fact balance. Rengar and Fizz and Garen are all balanced around their ability to kill particularly you when they get the opportunity since they have to almost always sacrifice something else. Ever watch Fizz try to fight a Tanky Fighter or defend a tower from a siege? Never works well for them. Ever see a Garen fight most forms of CC? Honestly it's a surprise he got on top of you in the first place.

Honestly given that you complained about three champions doing really similar things and all of them sharing certain weaknesses, very particularly huge weaknesses to them mind you, and trying to ask "is this balanced?" towards them kinda just tells me you are not the right person to be making almost any commentary on the balance of the game.

Our world has 7 billion people each with their own story. I think Riot can handle a fair amount of story telling for a while.
