Runes for Olaf

I am level 29 now and am close to 30. I am wondering when I'm supposed to get runes. If I should get runes now, could someone please tell me what runes I should get for Olaf. Also if anyone has any tips for laning phase with him, it would be a big help.

So im gonna give you the ones i use on him (I use them on every AD/Tank champs for now) They are effective and makes you hard to kill early. Tier 3 Runes: 9 Atk Damage Marks 9 Flat Armor Seals 9 Flat Magic Resist Glyphs 2 Health Regen Quints 1 Max Health % Quint Hes my main Champion and i love him!! Nothing more eautifull than fighting a full CC team and yelling F*** YOU!! while i charge their adc. [slayer-jinx-wink]

I would recommend getting two initial rune pages to cover most champions.

Page 1: Attack Speed Quints, AD Marks, Armor Seals, MR Glyphs Page 2: AP Quints, Magic Pen Marks, Armor or Scaling Health Seals, MR Glyphs

Thankfully, most of the above runes are permanently on sale for 50% of their original cost, so they will be cheap pages to make.

In this case, Olaf would use Page 1.

Once you have more IP and a decent pool of champions, you can look into getting more rune pages to better specialize your runes.

If you want to see what runes, masteries, summoner spells, and items people are taking on Olaf, I would recommend looking at this website: http://www.probuilds.net/champions/details/Olaf

You should be getting tier 3 runes by lvl 20 if im not mistaken. For Olaf you should run flat AD reds and quints. The yellows and blues are your choice. You can't go wrong with armor yellows, and mr blues. on Olaf. Just dont skip black cleaver..... its pretty damn core on him. lol

Here's the three pages I look at running usually.

AD Quints, AD Marks, Scaling Armor Seals, and Scaling MR Glyphs

AD Quints, AD Marks, Scaling Armor Seals, Flat MR Glyphs

AD Quints, AD Marks, Flat Armor Seals, Scaling MR Glyphs

If I'm against a relatively high magic damage champion I run the flat MR with scaling armor, if I'm against high AD early I run the flat armor with scaling MR, then if I'm not scared of that matchup at all I run the scaling on both.

I also suggest that pro builds site mentioned elsewhere. At level 20 you unlock the ability to get the top tier set of runes, so go ahead and buy runes now. You can definitely get away with just running the pages Endless Sorcerer mentioned, the ones I talked about are more specialized top lane pages based on the matchup, where the ones he provided are solid all around pages, as I'm assuming you don't have more than two rune pages, so for now go with what he suggested as they'll be more useful for playing everything else.

As far as laning, it really depends on who you're playing against. I'm a big fan of early cheesing of Olaf with the Q resets, but I don't recommend that for you just yet, you should practice and get a little more used to the matchups first so you know when it's a good idea, and when it'll get you killed.

Well, in my last game, I played against a Darius. I couldn't do anything against him because his spinning thing does sooo much damage and gives him health. I built armor first, but it didn't do much. He still destroyed me and everyone else on my team.
