It says a lot about balancing quality when some champions are dead.

Corki was broken in some seasons and is now DEAD. Seju was picked a lot, now dead. Aurelion Sol, nobody plays him. Trundle, nobody plays him and dead.

Why was these champions played before? Because they were too strong. Now nobody plays them. Which means that they have no mains.

Corki has 0.8% play rate, which means that much mains. Seju 0.7% sol 0.6% trundle 1.2%

Before they had 20% win rate and riot was not nerfing them. What happend? Where are those 20% of mains at? xd

Riot should learn, that there are some champions, that are not popular and if their popularity increases in a magic way, it is not because people like the champion, it is because he is broken as hell.

For comparison, Ryze is tier 5 champion, He is garbage at the moment with 44% win rate. 5,4% play rate. People like him. I like him too, he was in League since I remember. Mr "never ending rework" is a champion that I consider a core of this game.

A lot of champions are extremely meta-based.

Sejuani is both a tank jg and a proplay strong champion. In a meta where tank jgs aren't popular, it's not a surprise that she's that low. And Trundle only really shines in metas where tanks exist. As there are few tanks being picked, he's not going to be popular because his niche isn't really useful right now.

Also as Riot revealed last year, some champs are not popular for reasons that are unrelated to game-play. The non-humanish creatures tend to be underplayed - hence the reason for Cho-Gath's ridiculous buffs not too long ago. Plus, for some reason, it seems that if a character is female, can be clad in a bikini or Japanese school girl's uniform they tend to be played frequently too.

I hate playing against Corki , be it strong or weak , if he gets to late game it's over

To be fair, in an evenly split game where it's all perfectly balanced and every champ is always as useful as the next, those play rates are perfectly in line.

The problem is the champs with much higher playrates. What makes them so much more worthwhile to pick.

Not that it matters. You can't have real balance in a game that gets constant new content(Champions) the way this one does. It's not a Console game where they can get it to balanced and just leave it that way.

It tells us that the company does not even care a hoot about their Champions.

A lot of champions have always been like that since forever, what you need to be looking at instead is the amount of champions considered highly in the meta and the performance of those "dead champs". If people are still seeing good success with those champs then its fine. Not everyone is going to be meta and meta champion pools have always been small.

Second, play rate can be influenced by a lot of things. For example, performance wise before the nerfs Aurelion Sol was considered a strong champion in the meta however his play rate was still very low.
