So is anybody getting huge LP gains? I got Silver 3 in Season 5 after going 8-2 in promos (I was Silver 3 at the end of Season 4 and had more wins than losses). For my first win of the season I got 31 LP! I've never got more than 23 prior to this and I started playing in Season 3. Can i expect more of the same for every win? If so.....Gold here I come baby!!!

It's cause your MMR happens to be higher than what people in your league have.
Went 7-3 in promos (One loss cause of an afk D:)
Everytime I win, gain 25LP. Everytime I lose, lose half that amount.
With the start of the new season, your "hidden number," or your MMR is just trying to catch up with your real score. Say you did bad on your intro provisional and got into Bronze IV, but you really belong somewhere in high Silver than you're going to gain quite a bit of LP from wins and you're probably not going to lose much LP from losses ** until you get to where you're supposed to be. ** So you'll notice that the higher rank you get, the more your LP Gain/Loss will even itself out.
