Autofill, and why it's the worst addition to soloQ
I generally don't discuss ranked too much with other people since riot has made a pretty good job making it challenging and viable for people by letting us choose our roles, play with a duo partners and having a diverse ladder where climbing feels like it matters.
BUT all things aren't created fair and some things need to be compromised to make the overall experience better for the general "consumer". This includes, but isn't limited to: Not banning people with lax attitude towards winning and thus giving up @3 minutes after missing a creep. [slayer-jinx-unamused] Chat restricting and banning people when expressing their frustration about a player who might be intentionally "Soft inting". [sg-janna]
Even thought those are pressing issues than can be resolved I'm here to talk about a much bigger issue... an issue that affects not a regular player, but a competitive one. And before you reply to my post with "CLASH WILL SAVE COMPETITIVE LEAGUE EXPERIENCE", though I hope it will, I still want to play and climb through the ladder. Currently I'm juggling in High Plat and while I'm far from a great player, it still feels horrible when your whole team is working together only to find a missing clog in the machine.
"TARGET THE ADC KHA!" "DON'T TARGET THEIR FRONT LINE KAISA" "TOP GO BASE AND TP SO WE CAN END"

All of these messages were cause due to one thing riot implemented this season - autofill always being on. Now I'm sure we all know why it's been implemented that way (so that they could decrease the wait times for the matches) and in hindsight it seems like a good addition, until you reach "high elo". ![]()
To sum up the experience for anyone who hasn't reached Plat 1-2 yet, having an autofilled jungler in Diamond mmr feels like having a** Gold** jungler and in the end the game is decided by the team that has more autofilled players (the common "coinflip" situation in such a "low" elo is just baffling)
And on being a "random" dude I'd like to link some of the more famous people talking about the same issue since season 8 https://twitter.com/shiphtur/status/1074434450522464257 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cj7ZZPIwdac Here even faker gave his own 2 cents about this topic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAjSvi4b4Wg
I don't have a problem getting autofilled myself since I'm a support main but seeing others getting autofilled (and usually they don't even ask to swap)(once saw 3 support mains on the same team) just means that I'm gonna have an adc with below average experience who doesn't know any match ups nor can click the lantern while the enemies might have a diamond adc outmatching mine in every aspect. Though any game is winnable, it's still frustrating to see that someone lost it because they had no idea how a match up worked or had no experience with that role completely, thus picking something unconventional. In the end I personally find it toxic and unnecessary, people queuing up to ranked shouldn't seek fun outside the thrilling adrenaline rushed win and reaching the rank of your dreams. [sg-lux]
