Yet another topic whining about the new HUD

Contrary to the title, I don't hate the new HUD. I find myself fumbling a lot, and looking around the screen for where things are at constantly (which I'm sure I'll get used to after a couple of months). But there are two things about the new HUD that I don't think I will ever get used to:

  1. I'm a Shen player, and watching my ally's health bars is VERY critical to me, but making them so small, partially covered by their level, and so far out of my normal vision focus is a big problem for me. I am having a lot of difficulty making those clutch ultimates now, and I'm not sure what to do to increase my awareness of ally HP bars. I'm a software developer, so maybe I need to write some software that magnifies them and puts them on my second monitor? hmm...

  2. The ability to see your ally's mana bar on your HUD is gone? That is a pretty critical piece of evidence that determines when I go in or not.

Then these I am still having trouble with (but I might still get used to them):

  1. The items moving from the left to the right is still freaking me out. I look at them frequently to see when cool downs are available. I guess since the shop feels like it more "exists on the left" and the items are now on the right, my mind is confused when trying to discern where to look quickly. I might still get used to this, but it will take some time to be sure.

  2. The XP bar placement is still throwing me for a loop every time I look for it

  3. The overall score placement (5 to 16 kills) still throws me for a loop

  4. I miss seeing player names :(

The rest of the HUD I like I think. The death timers on ally portraits is nice, and always knowing the baron and dragon timer is a healthy thing for the game I think. Just as the riot comment said, they want the dragon and baron to be points of confrontation, not snowballing tools. I also love all of the new icons and artwork in the new HUD. Overall, good job riot, but it needs a little more tweaking IMO.
