Why Don't Boots Give More Stats?

It's always sort of been like "awww sheet I have to buy boots" rather than boots really being a helpful item other than the fact that it dramatically increases your movement speed. But at the end of the day boots=now i run fast enough to play this game.

I think all boots should upgrade into "greaves" or something with additional synergistic stats that make boots more of a feel good item than a necessity.
