Questions about Nami (and other stuff)

So I just bought Nami today and played her in my last game. I have a couple questions about her:

  1. Is her ult an engage or a peel?
  2. Should the first bounce of her W be on an ally or an enemy
  3. What skills should you max first
  4. How do you use E

This isn't about Nami, but is exhaust for peeling or engaging? Since the removal of the armor and mr debuff I can't tell. Thank you!

Exhaust can be used as both, so can her ult.

I'm bronze, so make of that what you will, but

  1. Can be both. In Bronze I often have to use it to disengage as much as engage. I tend to build her with as much CC as possible.
  2. It depends. If you're laning and the opportunity presents itself for a double bounce, go for it. If your ADC is dumb I'd save it for them though.
  3. W->E->Q. Level up ult whenever possible of course.
  4. I use it whenever my ADC needs extra damage or needs to disengage and don't have wave/bubble up.

I use Exhaust either whenever I need to slow someone trying to escape and Q/R/Frost Queen is down or if someone presents a big threat to our team in a teamfight.

Hi, Level 7 Nami main here! (I even have her figurine from the store, I love her so much)

Nami's kit revolves around combo'ing her Tidal Wave with her other abilities. My favorite is to R-Q-W the carry, E my own carry, then rotate Q-W-E as they come off cooldown.

  1. Her ult is better used as a peel. It's too slow to be reliable as an engage. Remember that it applies her passive to all teammates in it.
  2. It's a risk/reward thing; Target an ally (even yourself) first when you want to prioritize healing, and target an enemy first if you want to prioritize damage.
  3. R > W > E > Q
  4. Use [E] whenever a teammate is attacking an enemy champion (chasing, kiting, or trading). It's usually better for ranged champions.
  5. Use Exhaust only to "peel". It can be used on anyone that's about to lay down heavy damage - such as Jinx using her ult.

first of all ... Nami <3

  1. Her Ult can be used as engage, disengage and peel. If you are unsure when to use it. Think of your surroundings. For example, if you are in the jungle terretories, and the enemy team is running in a path, say from river at dragon to their midlane (past blue), ult in a manor that they will get hit unless they flash away from it. Since they are caught in a tight corridor. With the knock up, slow and the speed up to your allies, its a 100% catch (unless you don't have the damage) And in teamfights use it to just CC (aka peel) the enemy, maybe wait a second or two to position yourself and see where the enemy team is. And in most cases you will land a beautiful ult ^^

  2. It is purely situational, but preferably Heal the lowest person first. In some situations, you can heal a full health allied (closest to you) and bounce it over to an enemy to save someone who is to further away from you. But unless you are full health and your adc is decently healthy in a 2v2, just hit the enemy first ;)

  3. I personally prefer to max my E first, depending on how my lane is going and who my adc is. Because the damage amplifier is amazing. But when all else fails (aka you or your adc is taking a lot of harass) max W.. W-E-Q or in my case E-W-Q ^^

  4. In most situations you can E yourself or someone who relies on auto attacks. Or in certain situations you can E the closest person to the enemy for its slow. Her E is such a nice ability, some people underestimate the damage early.

And for the exhaust, use it on whoever is trying to kill your adc the hardest, normally the enemy adc, mid or their jungler. If you are skirmishing botlane, exhaust will help to "win" the fight. It makes whoever is exhausted more vulnerable.
