The New Pyke Changes (cont)
The changes discussed in the linked post have been withdrawn from the PBE, which usually means the devs are still brainstorming other ideas.
I'd like to put my two cents in. The goal here is to make "tank Pyke" less effective. The devs want Pyke to build AD (whether through AD or health items) rather than armor, or at least make a tradeoff for the tankiness. The original idea linked together his gray health conversion to his AD, so a tank Pyke would be tankier, but would have less sustain.
An idea that would accomplish a similar goal would be to give Pyke pseudo-lifesteal: Give him a chunk of gray health proportional to the damage he deals. This could be any damage, or just the damage with his auto-attacks, or just his basic abilities, or maybe even just his Harpoon. Regardless, giving him a percentage of the damage he deals as gray health would incentivize him to not only build AD, but also be aggressive. The whole point of his passive is to let him sustain through aggressive trades.
Of course, his base gray health conversion would have to be reduced to compensate, but the result is the same as the previous PBE changes: Pykes that build damage get more sustain than Pykes that build armor. He couldn't just take free poke and live forever; Pyke would have to trade back in order to get the full benefit of his passive. This puts a skill/positioning requirement for his sustain, rather than just free healing.
