The Ryze Nerfs

They make me very regretful I ever bought skins for him. I'm honestly not even sure why they happened. He was a noob killer and capable of shutting down some (poorly built) people, because there are plenty of ways to overcome his root spam. He required skill and intelligence to be competitive (not even close to unstoppable)

His win rate was never high at all, not even close to any of the many god/top tier champions. It was 45% in 5s and 49% in 3s before the nerf, now it's 38% 3s and 38% 5s. That's bottom 5 of win rates in 5s and bottom 20 in 3s. Where was he before the nerfs? Just under middle of the road in 3s and bottom 50 in 5s.

Please someone explain to me how that needed a nerf? And even if for the niche bullcrap situations it did, explain to me how it needed to be taken a dump on and set on fire.

Too high root uptime? make it so a player can only be rooted by the root spell once every X seconds, 5 would seem suffice. Too much damage? reduce damage scaling. Too much survivability? Change his scalings so he doesn't favour armor/mana items to such an extent or reduce the spellvamp % on his ult. He's lost everything that made him Ryze. Everything that made him dangerous. Everything that made him not suck wieners. He can't burst now (not competitively) he can't aoe now and he can't single target now. If you pit him against an equally farmed AP he won't kill someone with 8 nukes (assuming 3+5 from passive) whilst an annie, viktor, brand and plenty more, would kill the target with 3. He exists for nothing now. There isn't a thing he can do another AP cannot do better.

I love how there are so many ADs that can do what Ryze used to be able to do (be almost inescapable and kill most of the team if not CCed or bursted, but the moment another mage does it, oh hell no nerf that, mages aren't allowed to require skill and smarts to counter.

Anyway, that's my QQ thread. I miss having a short range bruiser mage that couldn't just be kited to death by absolutely every champion in the game. You revert alot of nerfs cos you realise you jumped the gun and made a mistake, do it again and find another way to nerf him without making him one of the worst champions in the game, capable of nothing. Please Fix.
