What does being DDoSed look like?

I suspect I may have just been DDoSed in a pretty crucial fight just now. Despite being bullied out of laning phase, I was arguably still the most vital champion who could turn things around at dragon pit, but as I went in my ping seemed to have been dialed linearly (specifically linearly) from normal up to 5000ms or so. It was so gradual and it lasted around 5 to 8 seconds which I only saw the grey screen for a second or two since I seemingly died so early but my ping wouldn't register me dead until then. Turns out I flat out disconnected at one point since I had the 'Reconnected' prompt soon after.

But it's the fact that my ms increased so linearly and constantly that made it fishy. Amongst all my ping spikes and lag spikes, it always abruptly jumps around somewhere high for a bit, but never specifically linearly. Is that what being DDoSed looks like or is something else at play here?

You are connecting to a game server, the chances of you being DoS'd or DDoS'd are pretty much zero. More likely that you ran into wireless connection issues, isp issues, hardware issues, or one of the many bugs in the game.

There's a 99.9% chance you weren't being DDoS'd. Riot has been having so many problems with fps and ping recently it's so annoying.

That's just Riot being their incompetent selves again... It's impossible to Ddos one specific person because you're all connecting to the same server. If you were getting DDossed everyone in that game would be experiencing it, or if it was a direct hit to the Riot servers, the whole game would be shut down, and you wouldn't be able to login.

Ddos in league totally disconnects the entire game. All 10 people will disconnect and then sit on the reconnecting to game load in thing including the person doing it. It essentially pauses the game while the game timer still ticks up.

A DDoS attack would overload an entire server, affecting every player connected to it. This would include not only every player in your game, but hundreds of other games as well. They also are quite sudden and coordinated, so it wouldn’t take longer than a second. You also wouldn’t “reconnect” because the server would require a restart, ending the game entirely. Furthermore, League of Legends is protected from DDoS attacks because of its maximum server occupancy limits. That same queue that was seen on PBE when TFT released would also stop a swarm a DDOS bots. It’s more likely that you experienced a connection issue, where either your internet connection or Riot’s was unstable. Considering the recent issues, it was probably on Riot’s end. If you want to keep up with the server’s upkeep, a thread is always pinned on the main boards page.

Every game so far today has had lag from other players (including myself which is super rare for me to hard lag..ms steady at 32 spikes to 180-200) There has to be a issues with the client or servers that isnt being addressed.
