Fell through the cracks, ADC main bronze 5

This may never be seen by a rioter or anyone important. However, I would still like this issue to be known.

I was once a support main. I switched to ADC and got placed in Bronze IV. I won 7 out of 10 of my placement matches.

I lost nearly 80-90% of games after that. I feel like I have no control over the game. I end games with above average cs and still end up losing. Focus on the CS people say, not the kills. That's what I do, but they also say, blame yourself not the game.

Queue times for adc are nearly at the support level. it's very fast at this rank. It takes about 1 minute and if you pick adc as your primary, you always get it. Some people could argue that most players at this level realize ADC is weaker than the other lanes, resulting in much lower queue times.

If anyone has any tips, I will accept them. However, at the bronze and possibly silver level adc is one of the weakest lanes. It's just feels completely unfair to play, and feels too reliant on your teammates. Thank you for your time.

**tl;dr Bronze V FEELS BAD would appreciate tips. **

EDIT 1: fixed grammar mistakes

ADC is a crapshoot in bronze because they require peel and support (from not just the support). I played adc this season and gave up because I couldnt escape bronze. I switched to mage supports and hit gold 5 in a month. If you're just trying to climb, I would suggest you try the same. Dominating as a support who frees up space for the adc to farm will carry games. It puts two people ahead right off the bat and potentially 3 if the jg comes in for some easy ganks. Never fight without vision and youll quickly climb. Too many people in low elo ward reactively instead of proactively. Ward in advance of fights and catch that enemy jungler as he comes in for a gank. It opens up dragons and easy roams mid if you can kill the jg.

Argues that the meta has shifted from the best jungle to the best adc. What about mid and top?!

I was once a Starcraft 2 player. League of Legends is showing the signs of an aging game(same as Starcraft 2). Once upon a time at the lower ranks, there was only 1 weak role(support). Now there are 3 weak roles... Jungle Support and ADC.

Imagine playing a board game that completely favors Mid and Top. That wouldn't be a fun game.

They took the C out of ADC a while ago. You gotta get something else like a top lane or mid lane champ. Maybe even a jungle. You gotta play one of them champs like Darius or Urgot who can deal a ton of damage and soak up a lot of damage. Gone are the days when the ADC could get you out of bronze.

One piece of advice, die less. Looking at your match history you deaths are way to high. I was given this same piece of advice when I first started climbing. One of the biggest mistakes bronze players make is we tend to over pursue and die too much. Especially as ADC, you need to be on the board getting CS.

As support, I don't mind dying to save my ADC when they are CSing properly. Let the support be your sacrificial lamb. Best situation is to not go in too deep so that your support doesn't need to give their life to get you out. If you get your deaths down to 5 or less each game, you'll see your wins go up. And in bad games, when you are losing every other lane, don't go all commando and try to carry a bad game. Stay patient, farm your lane, and learn from the loses.

Good luck.

Play solo carry marksmen like Vayne, Quinn, Lucian, Caitlyn, Draven, Ezreal

Fun Fact, placements don't really do anything with regards to winrate. My 1 Win/9 Loss record for placements turned into Bronze 2.

I'm not the guy to go for with tips, as I'm a Bronze ADC Main. I do notice I do better when I play champions like Ezreal rather than hypercarries like Jinx or Tristana, even though I'm better at Jinx and Tristana, and even though Ezreal's weak right now.

Generally speaking, your team in Bronze isn't going to get you fed, so play ADC's that don't require to get fed to do well late game (Varus, Ezreal, etc.)

Also, Twitch, Draven, and MF are good in lower elos, while higher-skill champs like Ezreal and Kalista do slightly worse.

Adc is a position that can easily snowball and win the lane early if they succeed to kill within the first 5 mins.

The adc's you're using are pretty low tier for the current patch and considering that you are in the bronze tier, on no occasion should you play Kalista and Sivir; they require synchronised gameplay with your team. Jinx and Lucian are an average choice because you'll have hard time to snowball them. Ashe doesn't do enough dmg and is weak early.

I suggest you play a burst adc such as Draven, MF or Twitch. Since they require less kiting and skills, coupled with a pretty powerful ultimate, it would be easier to climb with them. They are selfish adcs that require less support once they've started snowballing.

I am not the greatest ADC in the world but I managed to get myself to Plat 5 by playing mostly bot lane and top lane. So my tips for you are as follows:

  1. Pick your champion according to the team comp. If your team is tanky you can afford to play somebody like kogmaw/twitch because you have a good frontline. Likewise, a tanky enemy team is prime for tank busters like kog/twitch/vayne. If your team is squishy then you need a carry with self peel because you won't have a front line to do it for you (lucian/trist come to mind). Team lacks utility/engage? Try ashe/varus. You get the idea.

  2. Positioning is the most important part of this role. It doesnt matter if you are 10-0, if you position poorly you will be 10-1. If you are 0-10 and you have good positioning in teamfights you can come out 5-10. Always look at the position of your front line, their front line, the biggest threat to you (a fed zed/kha) and most importantly- your best escape route. You need to plan ahead. Its unlikely you will be fast enough to react to a stealthed Kha'zix coming from the fog of war so you need to ward that area behind you. Position yourself somewhere you can either dash over a wall if need be, use a jungle entrance to avoid the large cc spells, or hide behind your tanks.

  3. Watch the cooldowns of your enemy team. Before going into game ask yourself what the biggest threat to you is. Is there a Malphite or Sejuani? Then you need to wait to enter the teamfight/skirt along the back edges of it unti it has been used. If you know the enemy malphite hasn't used his ult in a teamfight then you need to be MIA because his only purpose is to ult the carry into oblivion. If you want to be the carry, don't be somebody's target practice.

  4. Itemize accordingly. If you see the enemy team is tanky then you need to finish a last whisper before they become too tanky to scratch. If you see the enemy team has 3 AD champs then you can afford to lose the attack speed from zerkers grieves if it means you get the armor from tabi. Likewise, why get a guardian angel if the enemy team is all AP? Instead go for merc treads or QSS. You need to evolve your build on a game by game basis. If you are building the same items in the same order everytime then you are doing something wrong. I would much rather lose a little bit of dps if it means i have more survivability because it means overall, i'll live longer in teamfights and actually be allowed to output more dps.

  5. How's your CS'ing and laning phase? Very often, games can be decided by who comes out of laning phase ahead. If you are down 30cs at 15 minutes it is not the end of the world but it makes it substantially harder to win the game.

Protip: if you see the enemy ADC walking up to last hit a minion, use that chance to harass them. Protip: if you see the enemy support has used their engage, use that chance to harass them. Protip: if you see the enemy bot lane get to lane late, expect a gank from JG at 5 minutes. Protip: if you see the enemy top lane get to lane late, expect a gank from JG at 3 minutes. Protip: ward dragon pit 24/7 so you can see a gank coming EARLY Protip: upgrade your trinket the second you get to lvl 9 and ALWAYS have a control ward on hand

I read this post. He argued that late game adcs are very powerful. However, it implies their early game and mid-game is very weak. If I don't snowball hard enough, I will always be a detriment to my team. That totally sucks...
