Does anyone else think Akali needs a rework?
A lot of people say to abuse her pre-6, but goodluck poking her down with her passive, and dorans shield which most akalis start with now. And she rushes hextech, which is even more sustain. An assassin with burst and sustain is a joke, come on riot.
This topic is useless (no offense). She's already planned to be reworked.
Why yes, I do believe that miss point and click heavy sustain assassin needs a full VGU at one point.
She also half healths you at lvl 4 if you squishy D:
W+Q+auto+E+auto hurts man.
Then she retreats into W so you cant fight back
I believe she should be focused on being an Hybrid scaling fighter with mobility rather than the all-in assassin that she is now, like a stealthier and faster version of Jax
She needs a a new kit entirely. All the point and click shit needs to go.
reav3 has mentioned Akali numerous times that she is a high priority champion for a VGU sometime.
Akali is very high on the list actually. She is a champion that is very loved by a lot of a players and has become more highly requested for a VGU every year. We think she has a lot of potential if we gave a her a big modernization VGU similar to WW.

akali is garbage, that's why she needs a rework
she gets trashed by every duelist, carry or mage, she doesn't have a single good match-up out of those 3 classes
on the other hand, she stomps pretty much every tank into the ground, she has no bad match-up against that class of champions
how is that a problem you ask? don't you think it's a bit odd for an "assassin" to lose every single duel against another potential duelist, but to win every potential duel against a tank, tanks who by default should counter assassins?
ding ding ding, we have a winner. akali is the worst assassin in the game by far, but she is a good tank buster, and that's wrong. that should be the other way around.
Here's the thing with a lot of champs that you have never seen in professional play, but seem very strong in Solo Queue - Akali, Wukong, Tryndamere, Yi, Xin Zhao, Illaoi, etc. - they are complete and utter garbage when behind.
What does any of those champions do when their lane is camped? They are forced to waste money on wards that they know will be destroyed, in hopes that they ward the right spot when the dive/gank comes in so that they don't feed the enemy team yet another kill on top of the free turret/objective. In solo queue, the answer to every one of these champions is the same (and easier to pull off) as it is in competitive - camp them and get them behind. Do not feed them kills by being over-ambitious. Understand that if they are behind, they are useless.
That's the trade they make, and why they feel so powerful when ahead, but it commonly feels like your team's Akali is bad. She got behind.
Why did she get to keep her burst speed but kat, talon, lb and rengar were slowed down?
Assassins with weak early games don't exist anymore whether it be Katarina, Talon, Kass, or Akali.
