Ashe: Is she under appreciated?

Title I just feel like a lot of people don't realize how much damage she can do, along with her great cc and engage ability ult. She is such a fun champ for me, and I love playing her, but a lot of people scoff when they see dat ashe.

ashe is probably the hardest adc in the game to play. yes I'd say harder than kalista or jhin. just my silver opinion tho. everytime I see an ashe that isn't feeding they end up getting pentakills and they say that they're smurfs.

Swiftness boots being so common hurt her a lot has well. She loses a lot of her potential to kite when the enemy can just run at you and you have very little self peel.

Ashe is super mediocre. On one hand, she has the highest, consistent, theoretical damage. On the other it seems to take forever to actually get there, and because of that you end up playing like a medium-high damage support for the first 20 minutes

Ashe's power comes from her Q which lasts for a few seconds, she has no other explosive or highly sustained damage. It's why she is hard to play.

Ashe is very strong. The utility she brings to a team is always nice. That lack of an escape is what can really hurt her. With an immobile adc you have to have that peel.

People definitely underrate Ashe. She's very strong, just not as flashy as some other ADCs.

Ashe is nearly a free win lane whenever I get to work with a non-stupid ADC. She and Lulu just works so well.

Though if you're gonna compare her to what's fresh in this meta (talk about "tank assassins" and the early game, snowballing dependency), then it's not a surprise that people say she sucks.

She is still the tutorial champion who people play for the first few game, and then abandon

Hollow Miracles4/17/2016, 11:14:41 PM1 votes

Trust me, I do a lot more than scoff when I see dat ashe ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Ashe's low damage and high reliance on her utility makes her a poor pick. I can't even begin to count the times I've seen Thresh Supports do more damage than an Ashe ADC. Her W has a 100% AD ratio, but it only has 80 base damage, her Q takes time to stack before even using, and her ult doesn't scale off AD. I think It's cool that there's an ADC based on utility, but it's impossible to effectively play her without a proper team composition/strategy. If you fail to have either of these you'll usually just be a burden to your team unless you have an amazing support that can get you ahead early game.

Coming from a support perspective, she's easy to kill inlane with a hard engage support like Leona or Alistar since she doesn't have an escape. Having no escape can make her vulnerable to dive comps, but she can work in the right situations.

Th3 Professor4/18/2016, 3:58:30 AM1 votes

Did not expect this to take off. My personal opinion is I think she is undervalued because she provides a ton of utility and with any sort of peel, can dish out significant damage later in the game. While not overpowered, she is a very above average champion.

Azteryz4/18/2016, 4:12:46 AM1 votes

tbh i just find her kind of meh cause shes the tutorial champ

and idk i guess that stigma grew on me

Hellpyre4/18/2016, 6:28:38 AM1 votes

Probably unappreciated. I know I stopped playing her after she got the volley changes. I miss waveclearing as mage Ashe T.T

Quepha4/18/2016, 6:30:47 AM1 votes

Utility champions are always under-appreciated. Ashe has a low kill count, mediocre damage, and a lack of big flashy burst so people don't understand why she would be picked. They underestimate how powerful constant permaslows are and how valuable it is for your players to be on a champion that isn't very mechanically complex, allowing them to focus more on other parts of the game.

ProfDrDeath4/17/2016, 7:54:32 AM1 votes

Yes. Yes she is.

She is just not as flashy/"skill-expressing" as the more popular Ezreals/Lucians/Jhins.

However, 52+% winrate consistently tells me that she is DEFINITELY not underpowered, just underplayed.

Baby Ghoul4/18/2016, 10:27:26 AM1 votes

ADC mains are not a patient bunch overall. Her kit is just underestimated because she's not the most obnoxious bot lane.

Ashe is mostly passive in lane while she farms and looks for openings created by her support or the enemy. She's a rather safe pick, but I see people play her so aggressively. An aggressive playstyle on Ashe rarely works. A good Ashe is patient and waits for an opening.

People severely underestimate how deadly her passive and Ranger's Focus stacks are. If she catches you out of position, then you're pretty much dead unless your support is Soraka. That moment of her turning to eliminate an out of position player is always shocking to see, because until then the most active in lane she gets is when she sends out Volley.

One thing that drives me crazy as a support main is when people don't use her Hawkshot enough. It's an extra form of security when you think the jungler or mid laner is coming to gank. That extended vision is invaluable at all portions of the game. That ability has got to be the most underused in the game though.

Only Play Darius4/17/2016, 8:48:47 AM1 votes

She's definitely a good champ since she has other ways to be useful so isn't pressured to do top damage, but her early game trading is iffy and and she has the weakest 1v1 in the class, so once your support starts roaming you're going to find it impossible to farm against the enemy ADC.

She was a lot better with the initial rework, at least in my opinion. her kit flowed smoothly.

Lady Hammerlock4/17/2016, 8:50:05 AM1 votes

Why? she relies on getting ahead your behind, you do no damage middle ground/even,you do no dmg your ahead MACHINE GUN BULLETS EVERYWHERE WHY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

Poske4/17/2016, 2:27:36 PM1 votes

Yes

Most of low IQ people have the mentality that she is 450IP EASY champion

I would prefer good ashe over god vayne any day

Rico Nasty4/17/2016, 2:36:00 PM1 votes

Shes easy and offers great utility and damage, however shes very squishy

Jeddy0174/17/2016, 6:49:59 PM1 votes

I like Ashe. She have been my go to ADC since I've started playing this game over 2 years ago (Thanks Tutorial, but I'm not building Thornmail). She's very simple like Garen or Annie.I like her even more after her update last year.

GenghisEmo4/17/2016, 7:42:37 PM1 votes

I like Ashe. Just that i dont like to play her since people dont get the concept of "peel" and "scaling".

But once people get the memo, that mid to late game is GOD LIKE.
