Executioner's Calling 2.0 Sounds Kinda Hot (or is it just me?)

One particular, seemingly insignificant announcement has me excited. I am referring to the news about an Executioner's Calling 2.0 potentially in the works, and an item like this is something I've thought of since even before the category four hurricane that was the Juggernaut patch, having completely forgotten there was originally an item of its kind!

Anyway, I'm just gonna lay out my "VISION" of what this new GW item could be like:

A Grievous Wounds AD item for marksmen could be a good counter build option for when you're against the new jugger - I mean Darius I mean juggernauts - or like, a fed Vladimir, the very rare situation of a fed Aatrox and nobody on your team has enough gold for a Frozen Heart, or Swains in general, or any other life steal / spell vamp-centric champion that has spiraled out of control (Olaf). This item could have a passive activated component which makes it so that if you deal a certain amount of AD based damage within, say, a period of five seconds, an animation will play on you to signify that for the next five seconds or so you will gain 25% attack speed and all of your auto attacks will inflict grievous wounds. Kind of like a reverse Sterak's Gage with regards to how it is activated.

The damage required should be a somewhat HUGE number that scales with the champion's level.

Additional Thoughts:

  • Should the strength of Grievous Wounds be lessened if the mechanic becomes this much more easily accessible?

  • How does Grievous Wounds affect the majority of mage champions that rarely tap into spell vamp? Is it gonna suck having to buy an item to deal with one specific target while offering less to deal with other threats than the "regular" adc build items? What if on top of the (nerfed) Grievous Wounds healing reduction the effect itself applied a stacking DOT based on the target's Max HP (like, 1% or 2% per GW application)?

  • As for where this item would fit on a kit, I imagine it would be chosen as an alternative to Phantom Dancer or Static Shiv, to counter especially bulky team comps which demand more reliable damage output than random crits, thus offering low base damage (50) less base attack speed (25%) and NO extra movespeed stats as a trade-off, the last of which of course makes the ADC less effective at 1v1 kiting and slightly more reliant on being behind a strong front line and peeled for in a full blown team fight to do their job. (In other words, more the Shiv / Dancer equivalent Kog'Maw frequently slimes his bed at night from dreaming of, and less the tool for Vayne mains to cling to like a false idol, but they probably would anyway.)

  • It could also be a BOTRK substitute, right? That, or be built alongside it for all the HP based damage and the peel + life saving potential of BOTRK's active, obviously depending on the enemy team comp.

  • It would build from an Avarice Blade and a Pickaxe I'd imagine.
