heres an idea that might help aatrox a lot
so ive been playing a bit of the new aatrox, because he's a big heavy aoe sword guy and im all about that, but he's got some real pain points and some oversights, and i think i have a clever way to address them and maybe also help introduce some of the old stuff aatrox players used to love, with basic attacks
so to me, from my experience, is new aatrox's biggest problem is that he gets destroyed by cc, like harder then any juggernaut, because his Q is his primary output in a team fight, and it has a long cooldown, at rank 5, with 45% cdr is has a 3 second cooldown and every q cast has a 3 second window to cast them, most of the game you won't have 45% cdr, so it's ussually around 8-10 seconds long, and thats an eternity. and if you get cc'd during one of those 3 second windows, it gets put on cd and ur effectively out of the fight for 10 seconds, its also frustrating how the 3 second window stifles ur E uses, you wanna save ur Es to help aim ur Q's but the window is so brief you can't really space on ur opponent or move in a frantic fight, so many times i've been aatrox halfway through 3rd Q and 2 seconds from E cd and i just have to walk away, "clunky" is a buzzword to try to rile up designers, but clunky to me is when it feels like im fighting the controls and not my opponent
so heres my ideas
Passive- slight change but important, reduce it's damage, but have it's cooldown reduce by basic attacks as well
Q- window in between casts 3->5 seconds. basic attacks on enemy champions refresh this duration (spell goes on cd after 3rd q)
might make triforce/attack speed builds feel a bit better, it'd also be nice if you buffed his base attack speed a little bit his attacks are very easy to cancel when attack moving
