Are we just going to forget Riot said this? I mean they've done a complete 180 right after the patch that allowed some variety.
Right now 11 of the top 15 most picked champions are bot laners.... the highest pick rate of a non ADC is under 1 percent pickrate bot.
Where is this diversity?

Anyone who complains about how good and diverse those patches were never actually played against those cancer picks. Heimerdinger+fiddle bot was legit aids.
They said that the way they tried to bring diversity to bot lane was bad so they went back and now are looking for other ways to do it.
What that list tells me is clearly they need to give some big buffs to 
in order to make more characters viable in the support slot. Which won't enrage the playerbase at all.

If you want Marksmen to solo lane then they'd need big base stat buffs, especially to things like Base Armor.
Consider this. There are 3 times more fighter champions than support champions.
The problem isn't diversity, it is how scarce ganks are and how onesided matchups are. A lot of the ADCs are not good in bot lane right now, but the supports are.
So many games end up going down the toilet because counter pressure doesn't apply to bot lane anymore.
You either get an Ezreal who does absolutely nothing in lane except jump around, so the enemy bot lane has an easy lane. If your bot lane is permanently under tower. That's an extremely bad sign for where the game is heading, but few people take note of that until it is too late.
Similarly the enemy jungler invests their time bot lane and the infamous 4 man bot gank starts a chain reaction that consumes the whole match.
Bot lane does need some serious balancing and it has for way longer than the diversity question has existed.
The only diversity we had in that patch was Swain, Yasuo and Heimerdinger (Heim only because someone in eulcs played it) lmfao other people using a non adc champion that wasnt the mentioned before were just inting Just like Jhin-Kai'sa-Lucian this patch
The botlane diversity should be focused only on adcs and hotfixing them to be balanced and at least 1/2 - 3/4 of them playable... Having siege, teamfight, utility and duelist adcs for just using the same struggling 50% win rate adc like kai'sa its pretty boring
