Can't seem to understand why i'm gaining much less than im losing (lp)

When I win games I get 16 lp usually and on loses, lose 22 or so. This makes climbing alot harder obviously. My op.gg says my mmr is normal for my rank, and I don't play poorly, I maintain an above 50 percent winrate. Kinda frustrating.

It means you're really climbing.

If I am correct looking on your history you had 2 times 0LP (or not much above) and lost a game ( Jax, Syndra). Correct? If yes, then you gained there negative LP wich were imho substracted the next matches you win.

thats insane, im been winning 26-28 and losing 13-16 since the start of the season.

How many ranked games do you tend to play daily? How many have you played this season?

Edit: as i figured, you have a ton.

I CAN NOT PUT MY FINGER ON IT, but somehow high numbers of games played factors into lower lp gains and higher lp losses.

Honestly my best guesses are that, its the systems way of putting you where you belong after playing so many games at one spot without climbing or dropping. It evens you out where you stand. ** Basically if you sit at 60%+ winrate with low amounts of games played, the system thinks youre not supposed to be there and forces you out. If you have 50% + - winrate with a ton of games played, the system thinks youre exactly where you should be.**

Yeah that would make sense then, but that just sounds kinda unfair. If this was a 1v1 kind of game that would be fair, but since this is a team game I don't think that should happen.

And yeah about the 'negative lp', I thought that played a part but I wasn't completely sure.

There's no negative LP when you lose at 0.

If your MMR is lower than expected for your current Tier / Division, then you lose more LP per loss and gain less LP per win. In other words, op.gg has estimated incorrectly and your MMR is lower than expected.

Hm, that could be it too. It does seem kinda hard to explain it exactly since there is nothing explaining how it works to the point.

Well looking at your match history, you're silver 5 getting matched with bronze 2, bronze 1 players. The system expects you to easily win these games so you don't gain much lp, however when you lose these games, you lose more lp. Op.gg mmr rating isn't 100% accurate, it's just an estimate.
