A question: is there any chance for an AP upgrade for the Quicksilver Sash?

Seeing the new pre-season roll out has shown me a lot of amazing items, but I do feel like an AP upgrade for the Quicksilver Sash is rather necessary.

Since the Mercurial Scimitar is getting some changes to make it fit into an ADCs build (even) better, shouldn't AP champions be able to make it work out better for them?

If you choose the ''I see issues'' option in the poll, please detail what issues you see with it.

I'm somewhat conflicted on this, because of how quickly AP mages and assassins are supposed to delete you. The counterplay to that is CC, and I feel like if they have an out for that too, it could be pretty unhealthy.

AP mages already have Zhonya's as a defensive item, 2 would just make them over powered and immune to any assassination or being caught out.

Zhonya's just prolongs your death in most scenarios. It can help keep you alive or just make you a sitting duck (frequently the latter). It has its place to counter things like zed ults, keep you alive while you attempt to channel abilities and sometimes just give you a few seconds to let your team save your butt. What it can't do, what almost no mage items can do, is provide a very weak disengage. No bonus move speed and no lasting effects that reduce cc, just one removal of one cc. I'd be happy seeing a larger cd placed on a mage version placed in testing to see if it truly does unbalance things. But as it is there is no counter for a mage against a WW, Malz, or Urgot. All of whom are usually a gurantee 100% death. I kinda think it would be reasonably balanced with a longer CD of around 120/150 seconds. Long enough that WW, Malz and Urgot can reuse their ult if the player is foolish enough to get caught out or engage again too soon.
