Can we please have athread to talk about summons?
I'm talking about Ai based companions you know like
's ult Daisy,
Maiden of the mist as well as his mist walkers,
's spider horde, and any others I may be forgetting to mention. Has anyone noticed that they all seem a tad bit iffy. Like a lot of people complained about daisy for like a week or so because she actually felt impactful with the way she could guard the front line while remaining durable throughout a fight, then she got nerfed and now shes just a minor nuisance much like a lot of summons seem to be. Why is it that all summons have to be gated by some arbitrary factor that prevents them from being impactful I like characters that "minionmance" but they are never allowed to be effective for more than one to two patches before being kicked in the shins. Below I'll list their weaknesses
Daisy: Recent nerfs left her squishier, couple this with the fact that he Ai is one of the worst in the game as well as the fact that she doesn't so much deal damage as she does offer suitable crowd control you have an ult that isn't able to live up to its potential due to constraints on her scaling and health pool.
Maiden: the maidens odd, at a glance she appears as if she should be a split push tool who thrive on independence but when one begins getting a feel for
kit this is quickly disproved. Summoning the maiden and sending her off on her own often feels like a major waste he lack of wave clear and tendency to attract tower agro similar to cannon minons means shell be on Cd almost immediately on her own. Shes better fitted for dueling purposes with the increased damage she gives
being useful for taking objectives and 1v1s. However this brings up another glaring weakness, team fights the maiden isn't a team player her ability to add bonus damage to a target for
is nice but there is a problem the maiden isn't tanky one or two stray spells will take her out of commission and everyone knows this. Summoning her for team fights often is a last ditch effort to provide the enemy with a target other than your carries rather than actually trying to use her for anything meaningful which is weird cause this limits the maidens power to nothing more than
butt buddy who follows him around until her Ai inevitably gets her snagged in place because she accidently saw a minion and isn't sure what to do anymore. (seriously why does that of all things break her, she's supposed to shove a lane if she's in it but often when I play jungle
she ends up hitting a rogue minion that followed me into the jungle and than immediately freezes like a deer in the headlights.)
Mist walkers: take everything I said about the maiden and scale it down to a bunch of less meaningful runts, not only are these guys dumb but they are gated on top of that. mist walkers are most likely the squishiest permanent summon taking roughly one auto to kill from almost everyone in the game, their damage is nothing to write home about and only 4 of them will be at your deposable at any given time spawning more causes them to spontaneously perish. I find it strange that those spawned by the maiden die if they move within a certain distance of Yorick's own pack would it seriously be too much for yorick and the maiden to maintain separate hordes since she does in fact spawn her own automatically. The scaling on these guys isn't that great either, I was using practice tool to see just how much someone could squeeze out of them for offensive and defensive purposes and the max hp a ghoul can get is around 1.5 k hp now to some that might seem like a lot but in the fact its not much cause they don't have resistances so they blow up all the same, the max ad wasn't much better and left them so vulnerable that they could hardly be considered viable parts of yoricks kit.
