Games feel more toxic since Hextech Crafting's release.

I mean.. Ever since Hextech Crafting's release (just a few days on EUW, which is where I am) that people in normal games seem more toxic when they are losing.

I don't know if I am alone on this, but I doubt I am. It probably has to do with how the system only rewards you if you win (or I've had S's on losses and was very unlucky), meaning if you are losing you'll get flamed because none of you are getting that sweet hextech loot.

Can this be changed please? Can the system just reward you for doing WELL instead of Winning?

For the toxic people trying to reform, they are offset by everyone getting the rewards, as well as no clarity on when they will be considered "reformed". So that makes them more edgy. But, because they want to reform to get Hextech, they just end up being passive-aggresive. Because they aren't being full-blown toxic to relieve their anger/stress, it pents up inside them and makes them get more and more edgy.

People are also pressured to try to get an S+, to reap the rewards, so they want to have as best a KDA as possible, ward, and whatnot. If people are doing poorly, they can get rewards if a teammate gets an S+, so others are also pressured to do better

I was wondering if it would have this effect

I dont know if it's part of hextech crafting or more just league in general sliding worse and worse down the "be competitve and flame your teammates who do poorly" scale

Edit: there isnt even friendly banters anymore in allchat

Its just "so and so is bad" "rekt" "u mad" "our adc sucks" "no he doesnt he is getting ganked alot"

Even if its not outright toxic, people talk about who is doing well and poorly in lane in-game, with both sides jumping in to offer opinions

Even norms are so tryhard

Its just ridiculous

Nah, it's definitely Hextech, and I'll tell you why.

It takes forever to get reformed according to Riot's system. You can get a 10 game chat suspension and 3 months later still not be 'reformed' for it. And all it takes to get that chat suspension is a 4-man premade who wants to fuck you over. It's happened to me more times than I can count. Hell, I'm on the forums right now because I was afk for the first 3 minutes of the game (bathroom) and a 4-man premade got all toxic over that fact for the rest of the game and reported me for it. For 3 minutes. So now I need to wait a longass time before I can even queue. It's a broken system.

But that isn't the issue. Not at all. The system DOES have upsides. However, with Hextech, toxic players (or people who aren't reformed) aren't allowed to get rewards. Which really sucks, because as I said, it takes a really long time to reform. And not only that, but after every game you get a message saying "You are unable to receive rewards due to previous behavioural restrictions." or something along those lines. Which is kind of a smack in the face from Riot. Like, "Oh, you were toxic once? Well here, allow me to remind you after every single game."

In the forums after Hextech was added, there were posts all around with people saying that this was definitely not going to help them improve their behaviours, and they were absolutely right. The worst way to reform a toxic player is to slap them in the face with a fuck you, and that's exactly what Riot did.

I have seen a few people get an S on a loss. It's just a performance grade. It can be achieved in a any game regardless of the final outcome.

You can only get 1 chest / week so after everyone's used their initial 4 (should already have happened by now, really...) I think this will calm down. In 30 or so matches I think I've only seen a handful of people even comment about post-game rating 2 or 3 times.
