The problem with jungle.

Jungle right now is probably the strongest role right now, for a few reasons.

  1. Games are quick. Jungle, because of it's ability to impact all 9 other players in some way, has probably the most impact in the game. A midlaner can impact the jungle, top, and bot to an extent but not nearly as much as the jungle can. The adc and the support can effect the 3 other players in their lane, generally, and the support has some impact on mid. Top lane really has no impact on a lane other than it's own, unless it runs teleport (which was recently nerfed and assuming that you never have to use it to get to lane). Because of this, the junglers have the ability to affect the most players and therefor have the most impact on which side wins early game. And, since games are so short, this means that the jungle automatically becomes one of the most important roles.

  2. Its the easiest to carry with. This is because of the same reason as the last one. As a top laner, it's difficult to really affect anybody other than my own lane. I can invade, which is risky even with an advantage and I can tp every 6 minutes. Depending on the champion I may be able to roam mid a bit. But, compared to a jungler its really hard for ANY lane to spread their strenght across the map. A mid laner has to sacrifice mid lane pressure to roam, a top laner has to sacrifice farm and all that to roam. A jungler basically doesn't have to sacrifice anything to spread their strenght across the map, cuz that's what they're supposed to do. And becaue of point 3:

  3. It's way too easy to gank and junglers Burst masteries like electrocute and predator has made it very easy to gank, especielly before and around level 6. Again, top lane is especially vulnerable to this, because my lane is longer than mid, bot lane has double the wards I have and usually has a champion designed specifically to defend and peel. A lee sin can burst you from full to half with a single combo level 2. Same with Vi. Zac has so much sticking potenital and blah blah blah. I could go on, but you get the point. It's way too easy for a jungler to get kills compared to a laner. This feeds into point 4:

  4. Junglers don't have to make though decisions. Remember point 2? About how midlaners, toplaners and supports have to sacrifice something in order to gank, whether that be farm, tower hp or whatever. Junglers don't. Because the jungle is cleared so quickly and takes so long to respawn, taht leaves the jungler with a fuck ton of downtime with nothing to do but gank. Now, this may seem obvious, as the junglers have to have time to gank, but they have too much of it. If a LeeSin wants to gank several lanes at once, he should have to sacrifice something. Maybe lee has to choose between a third gank in a row or taking wolves when they respawn. Maybe he has to choose between waiting in the brush for half a minute and taking raptors. Not only because it forces them to farm more, giving laners more breathing room, not only because they lose something on ganking me, compared to them just gaining something now, but it also punishes them. If a lee sin comes top but all he manages is to take a third of my hp, that's still good for him, cuz he has nothing else to do. It's not like he has a jungle to farm, because nothing is going to respawn in 30 seconds. Maybe make it so that if he doesn't get a kill, he's punished by losing farm time.

And all of this is a problem because:

  1. A single role shouldn't have more power than any other. In teh perfect world, each role does 20% of the game. Five people each doing 20% to make it a hundred. Of course, you're never gonna get taht perfect ratio but u should be as close as possible. And right now, Jungle does way more than 20%. It doesn't feel good that another player gets to win more and have a larger impact on the game just because he plays another role. That's unfair, to be honest. And I don't want to feel forced to play something I don't like to win, because that's unfun. I shouldn't feel like I'm hamstringing myself my picking top instead of jungle.

And the solutions:

  1. The solutions are fairly simple. First, make the jungle harder to farm. You don't necesserily need to make the jungle deal more dmg, but make it take more time. Give the lanes some breathing room and make it so that the jungler has to spend more time farming. This way, their pressure on the map and the game lessens. It also makes it harder to solo carry, as they have either forgo farming and rely soly on kills, increasing the risk/reward nature of the game.

  2. Make the monsters respawn faster. By doing this, the junglers can't spend as much time spam ganking or camping a single lane, but actually has to go back to the jungle quite often to farm. This, again, lessens their pressure on the map and their impact on the game and punishes them for failing a gank.

  3. Make it so that it's more difficult to pull of those ganks. This would create a bigger difference between good and bad junglers. And, since it's harder to pull of ganks, the power of ACTUALLY getting off a gank would increase compared to now, making them feel more impactful and satisfying.

This would be busted, one kayn e he can go through walls and still gank faster, and nocturne r, they can both get really fed up and go for a gank, and im sure their are more junglers, but this would mean junglers that can pass trough walls such as ez, nidalee, kayn, nocturne, lee sin would be more broken and they would need nerfs and they really cant afford to have nerfs. (well maybe nocturne and kayn)
