About Urgot

Holo everyone.

So I was playing Urgot yesterday and I realized something weird. I was up against Gangplank and everything was going fine until I found out one thing about this precious six-legged beauty. I used my ultimate on Gangplank and, while I was reeling him in, he simply ate an orange and got out of my chains. This made me think: should enemies really be allowed to use their abilities while being pulled in for execution?

Then again, the whole description of suppression is pretty vague:

_Suppression: A unit that is suppressed is unable to control its movement, attack, cast abilities or use spells. _

Obviously, that is not the case, because certain abilities seem to circumvent this rule. But, it's just funny how getting out of Urgot's "Mercy" is even possible. What do you guys think?

Urgots ultimate is the worst coded suppression in the game because it has two codes. 1 code which only slows the person for a fix period of time. If he ate oranges during that, you could still reel him in after. The other, is the actual suppression, which can also be removed. Unfortunately, GP or anyone using item 3140 can evade Urgot's ult 100% of the time.

They are not, it's the other way around. A few skills in the game (Ali ult, Trynd ult and GP oranges) are allowed to be used even when you normally can't use any ability. Those skills are an exception, and you can use them AT ANYTIME. Including Urgot ult.

It's fine if they're expending an ultimate to do so, such as Olaf or Tryndamere (It makes sense thematically, too, since they're supposed to be virtually unkillable organic machines of destruction), since they're giving up a valuable ability to do so. An argument could be made for QSS, since I'm certain it has a shorter CD than Urgot's ultimate. But it's really not okay for GP to just orange the ultimate. That seems...cheap.

I suppose you could either stand right next to him when you ult (meaning no time to react) or force him to use his W beforehand...But this really seems unfair. Stopping an ultimate with another ultimate is fine. Stopping it with an ability on a 10-20s CD is not.

I know the pain of a hard to pull off ultimate being stopped by a normal ability button. Was a Sion charging across the map, dodging shit and trying to perfectly aim at the carry. Then being stopped by a Fiora HURR DURR PERRY! Is a real kick in the junk. It feels like the harder to hit with ultimate and timing them out, the easier they are to shut-down.

Trynd can cast his ult while suppressed as well.

Tryndamere is no longer the one being killed in this situation. Urgot is.

I think oranges are annoying, but I'm pretty sure it's working as intended. You can also get out of it with olaf ult.

No, it is not normal to be able to use abilities under Suppression (and under any kind of hard CC too) But some abilities are specified to be usable under any circumstance, suppression, stun, fear, taunt ... you name it.

Here a quick non-exhaustive list of ability that can be cast under any CC : Tryndamere, Olaf, Alistar ultimates GankPlank W, Rengar empowered W
