I used to love this game, now I hate it.

Early in this season, and at the end of last season, something finally clicked, (with the help of many guides on youtube and mobafire) and I could finally jungle to the benefit of my team, and work kits which had previously overwhelmed me. After that, I began to tackle the ADC role, which most appealed to me in the first place, when I first joined the game, and achieved mastery on many champions in many roles. That's just satisfying.

I made friends on League, and we started queuing together in 5-man groups, just as promising and exciting changes, like dynamic queue, group IP boosts, and Hextech crafting, were being implemented. We had fun, we learned teamwork, and we took our losses [relatively] graciously.

Then, as if only to upset the balance, things took a turn for the worse. Mages, who were already amply blessed with powerful kits... (lookin at you, Ekko Fizz Malzahar ), ...were given this ridiculous rework which punishes any players who don't enjoy playing mages, can't counter mages with their preferred or play-style-oriented champions, and have no answer to team- and/or lane- comps which never before existed, and furthermore, don't conform to any semblance of a meta-game. That used to be a thing.

Riot. Your changes and re-works, while obviously necessary, and with exactly the sort of goals developers should have in mind, have largely missed the mark for the benefit of all but the most opportunistic players. These are the same sort of players, from long-term and varied observation, who would exploit hacks and cheats in other PVP games wherever available, and are otherwise incapable of good sportsmanship. Your changes have rewarded the players who excel at making the game far less enjoyable for casual players like myself and friends, who (by the way) are happy to spend our hard-earned money [you've seen this economy] on customization in your game. Can you imagine how maddeningly frustrating it is to lane against champion after champion or duo after duo who keep you from doing anything in lane, no matter how well you know the champion and role!? On top of that, (what a kicker) you then have to suffer having your opponent gloat about it, as though it was more their skill (implicitly, the lack of our own) than the actual match-up?

My friends and I have had more losses since these mid-season updates than we have ever had together. Ever. More than I ever had solo. More than I had when I barely understood the game, and couldn't even survive jungling! More than I've had (as a ratio) in ranked play! This is ridiculous!

When your game's version of working to "balance champions" is to create a meta where either just the right duo, or more often, off-supports (i.e. mages) and APC's, completely dominate regular support/ADC combos, it completely ruins the game for those of us who both enjoy, and took the time to learn the nuances of, those roles. Seriously!? How am I supposed to ADC now if I don't pick exactly the right champ against the opposition if I don't happen to get the right support to help me match up against, I don't know, Jinx +Velkoz!? Yeah, Lucian, KogMaw, or Jhin may be strong in many ways, but the wrong opponent champions duo bot combined with the wrong support to face them, and each of these champions who might otherwise dominate are completely choked-out, regardless how I might try to adapt or build differently. What, like picking Udyr and then getting countered by Kindred gave you any chance to have a good game last patch? Not possible.

Then, just to pile on the grievances, many of my friends and I haven't received a new chest or additional key fragments in over a month, despite the S rankings we have managed to achieve (all of us, in turn) over that time, overcoming all odds of team comp, and how randomly we either counter or get countered in lane. For real, is this game designed to give some players the short end of the stick?

Well, sorry for the bitch-fest everyone, it's just that I've spent way too much money on this game, and I feel like I'm not getting any return on investment here. For too many of us, it's just not fun any more. It's mostly just frustrating. I don't want to get to diamond or go pro or anything, I just want a fair fight. Why is that seemingly so much to ask?
