RIOT, please read.
In 2009 there were 42 champions, we had 6 bans. In present day, the number of champions has more than tripled. 42 x 3 = 126 In 2010 there were 66 champions, we had 6 bans. In present day, the number of champions has more than doubled. 66 x 2 = 132
Currently, after the release of
, there are 134 champions.
I admit, it would be ludicrous to give summoners 3 bans each, but even if you did, it'd leave a pool of 104 champions to choose from. I think it's very reasonable to ask that each summoner get 2 bans each, leaving a pool of 114 champions to choose from. But still, that isn't what I'm asking for.
I simply request that each summoner get 1 ban in draft. 10 is only 7% of the current champion pool of 134.
6 is 9% of 66. Meaning, back in 2010 (when I started playing), you were sacrificing a higher percentage of champs and giving all that power to one summoner. Meaning, a top or mid laner could legitimately ban their 3 worse counters for an easy lane.
6 is 14% of 42. Meaning you allowed a 6th of your champion pool to made unavailable.
Each summoner getting a ban would also make for less hostility between teammates in champion select. Even with 3 different summoners banning, there is still a discussion over who should be banned and when the top 2 picks are in disagreement over the bans (I personally like to get rid of
or
just because they're annoying), the flaming begins. This can be reconciled by giving each summoner 1 ban, creating a healthier gameplay environment.
