Should there be a reward for playing the rotating game mode queue?

Just a thought...

Overwatch recently implemented receiving loot boxes as a reward for playing some of their side game modes. How it works in their game for those who don't know is by playing 3 games in a specific side game mode you receive a free lootbox. Now you can do this every week in Overwatch to gain an additional loot box (up to 3 times) on top of just playing.

I think it would be a great idea if League had a similar system for it's rotating game mode queue. Every week if you played the rotating game mode a specified amount of times, maybe you have to win or you don't, you should receive a** hextech chest and key.**

  • Edit: Cutting the reward down to just a** chest one week and then a key the next **works to or even just an ip boost. Just something would suffice.

This would entice more players to play these rotating game modes maybe discovering something new that they like while getting a little bonus added on to it. The issue is now that some players rarely touch these game modes or give them a chance but this little addition might generate more interest in them. If Riot sees more interest in these rotating game modes, they will just keep improving them and have a healthier amount of people playing them.

So let me know what you think of Riot implementing a reward system for playing the rotating game modes. Don't forget to up vote if you agree so maybe we can gather some attention to this.

Thanks, J0hnnyFly

i personally only play the game mode if its one i enjoy. Would be more willing to play it if i got a guaranteed chest every week, since i play like 3 champs <_<

Poro king is probably my favorite one and i play the shit out of it every time its up. pls rito bring it back again soon i missed it this week :(

I'm going to play devils advocate and list a very real issue that could come up. People could just spam out RGM games for bonuses even if they dislike the gamemode. this could increase toxicity.

If it was based off wins then there is always the chance that people get incredibly angry over losing too.

Gonna have to disagree with this idea.

Overwatch and League have VERY different loot systems, what works for OW isn't necessarily a good idea for League. From the player's perspective getting a free chest and key is pretty badass, but what does Riot get out of handing out another free chest and key on top of the ones they already give us?

Maybe something less major like double or even triple IP would be okay, but chests seem like too much since they can contain literally anything.
