Good Champs to Blind Pick Mid

I play a lot of solo queue and I mainly queue up with mid as my primary. I don't generally trust the people I end up grouped with to have the champs I want to switch with me, so there's about a 50/50 chance that I'll end up having to pick not knowing who the enemy mid laner is going to be. More than that if you count potential flex picks I guess.

I main lux, who seems to me like a decent champ to take when you don't know who you're up against because her long range allows her to farm fairly safely, but I'm looking for some more recommendations on who's a good champ to take mid when you don't know what you're up against. Any thoughts?

Not Ahri.

Zed is probably best. He destroys most midlaners and can solo carry.

malzahar or morgana. Morgana can be played super safeif need be, and is never useless in a team comp. malzahar is just decent all around, and shuts down annoying solo carries like zed, ahri etc.

Talon/Malzahar.

Talon can first blood just about every mid in the game at level 2 if played properly, and malz is just stupid right now. You bully your lane if you get any kills you become this huge threat.

Corki is pretty save, especially after level 6. Just farm and poke.

Syndra as well. She has a lot of good match-ups, and even in the bad ones you can safely farm away.

Swain is my personal go to blind mid pick. After 6 and RoD most mid champions cannot kill you on their own, and if you can land your root, you often got kill pressure as well. Only bad match-up is a good fizz player. Last hitting in the early game is a bit tricky as he got pretty slow and low damage AA, especially if you are getting pushed in.

Lux Syndra Ahri Zyra my mid picks. Don't really expect the Zyra mid when I pick it, unless the support picked before me or their mid lane. The other I feel are somewhat safe picks.
