Minion changes based on half-baked philosophy...

...and fully baked Rioters, apparently. Seriously, "This is gonna give you comeback opportunities because the waves will auto-push to you and you'll get more money!!!"

Not sure if they understand map pressure. Not sure if they understand that wave control is a finely tuned skill that gets shafted because of auto-pushing minions.

Now, from what I've read, the actual damage increase and damage reduction isn't that high, but cumulatively it guarantees very predictable wave behaviour if the minions are left to their own devices. If you're behind, the wave will always bounce back to you, regardless of whether it crashes on a tower or not. If you're ahead, the wave will always go very far, if not crash on the enemy tower.

I've said it several times now, but split-pushing when ahead will become the premier strategy of this season, and whichever team's split pusher is ahead will tip the game. Riot seems to think that since the numerical bonuses to winning minions are fairly small, they can be overridden if there's a champion in the lane to deal with it and it's therefore okay. What they seem to be missing is that the very fact that the minions require a champion present to deal with them is free map pressure that the winning team doesn't even have to think about or set up. There's no such thing as skillfully setting up a slowpush to pinch objectives and create hard choices for the enemy team anymore. There's no such thing as managing waves in a meaningful manner to segue into a clever objective trade if you're behind.

What's next? Allied towers gain armour if you're ahead? This minion change is a joke and unnecessary. You guys are having enough trouble balancing items and champions; don't overburden yourselves by adding dynamic minions to that list.
