I really feel like mordekaiser has a very limited window of weakness

And unless you are Trynd, or Fiora, you are forced force short engages on him and get out. This is because of his passive, which forces you to try and trade against him because his trades are always favorable - you can’t risk a trade that results in an extended trade because you’ll lose. It’s like playing against Darius, except Darius has mana limitations and has to land his Q to heal. Morde simply has to press W and press it again.

I don’t think he’s necessarily overpowered, he’s really lackluster outside of lane phase. But that doesn’t mean he should be this overpowering lane bully that disappears when lane phase disappears - I’m sure that’s not fun for morde players either. I actually think his kit is cool, but I just think his passive is too highly tuned up in the early game which gives him favorable poking and a daunting all-in.

Morde really isn't that great. He rofl stomps in low elos because of one major thing: People are too stupid to predict skillshots. If you dodge his E, and his Q, he is free for like 20 seconds. He really relies on landing his E+Q combo, then getting his auto and sticking to you. If you dodge E and Q, you nullify basically all of his threat. Plus his ult can just be QSS'd, so it's a pretty shitty ult. Good in lane, bad if the enemy team has an inkling of thought in their builds

He cant ever really proc his passive unless you let him hit his two skill shots. Just avoid getting creep blocked and standing in the wave and you should be pretty fine against him. Also he hardly disappears after the laning phase, but he is kinda feast or famine relying on being able to 1v1 who he ults, if he cant or gets outplayed / hourglass / qss then hes kinda unimpactful.

Morde’s greatest weakness is his complete lack of mobility/engage as well as high cooldowns and stick-on potential unless he already has items for it, making him a very laning phase reliant champion. That being said it certainly help that he doesn't do much later on when everyone either buys qss/zhonyas or adaptive helm. he usually needs to split or follow his team to control objectives, waiting for a teamfight to break out so he can pull a carry. He absolutely shreds everyone and it honestly feels super mindless playing him since his laning phase is so strong compared to his lackluster lategame stickiness. Ive had times where i missed both my q+e but started my passive with auto attacks and just won the trade by walking next on the poor guy. I absolutey destroyed that tryndamere in lane by rushing lvl6 and ulting him the second i got it. Taking him away from the minions means that he’s stuck on level5 to my 6. From that point forward i just bashed him when he came up for CS, heal constantly off W, chunk him out and dive him later, and when his jungle gragas ganks i just pull him and walk away with his stats 5 seconds later. His safety in lane and ability to dominate is just very overwhelming for how simple his kit is. Tbh I might compare him to new garen, great in laning, massive & simple kill pressure, but gets kited tf out of later on becoming a brick wall people just tend to avoid and have their adc pull down.

His window of weakness is when he misses his E, as he needs to land two basic attacks + Q to get his passive up. As long as you sidestep the Q, it is manageable in higher elos and trading isn't hard. His niche is that he is a manaless juggernaut that can dish out damage while being tanky with W, giving him lots of sustain whilst having high base damage to deal with most champions in the top lane effectively. His kit requires him to either stomp lane or be outscaled hard by most top laners except teemo, which actually makes his fairly easy to deal with as a champion, unlike other BS such as frostmancy Karma Top. He's balanced fairly well under the assumption that players try to dodge his abilities, since his kit does not allow him to function in the late game without his ultimate, which can be negated by QSS.

TLDR go in when he used his Q on the wave, dodge the E, make him pop his shield, and repeat. If you don't dodge the E and Q, his passive procs in a second. If you dodge both of them, it takes 2.6 seconds since his attack speed is pretty damn crappy, which is enough time for most top laners to use all their abilities and combo (unless you're tryndamere, which then your crits are your spells)

Literally buy QSS and Adaptive Helm and invalidate the champion for the rest of the game.
