TL;DR Read the title.

My friend is coming from DOTA. He only knows how to play two champions, but because he knows how MOBA's work, his ELO isn't terrible. He's stuck in the "1 smurf and 4 deadweight" mirror matches, and he complains that champion knowledge is really hurting him. I told him to read up on champions and to watch their champion spotlights, but let's be honest here:

These only do so much. There's how a champion WORKS and how it PLAYS. Understanding how it works doesn't mean you appreciate how it plays. Soraka is my favorite champion, and I would have never played her before I was randomly assigned her and found out she was actually fun to play. I've also bought a lot of champions that seemed cool only to find out I hated playing them.

Knowing both how a champion works AND plays is a HUGE ADVANTAGE. As Blitzcrank or any other hook-based champion, we all get that one player who you can never hook. Why? They know how the champion plays. They know the ranges, the speeds, the wind up times, the cooldowns, etc. They understand the mindset too: angles, concealing intent, where and when to flash, how to hook jukes, etc. You only really learn this from playing the champion.

Now, I'm not going to suggest that you make all champions free-to-play like my friend, but at the very least, all champions should be available in Practice Mode. Every other MOBA lets you play, practice, or at-least trial all of their "champions". It's actually a shame the Practice Tool isn't used to its full potential. Players of all skill levels would benefit, and what loss is there? Losing RP from players making uninformed champion purchases? Heaven forbid...

All champions need to be available in Practice Mode.

No its too hard for them. Please let them rest because they are playing a lot of TFT these days in their work hours. They really can't work to do that please mercy on them. Riot is having a hard time balancing the game too. Zoe got nerfed 100 time and she's still too OP and that's hard for them to balance :(. Guys come on don't force them to do these stuff. They are a small indie company

don't even need to read, it should just be a thing.

And skins too imo. Practice tool has a LOT of work to go but Riot literally doesn't care about it. There was a post recently explaining how its more of a burden on the server than a feature they deem worthwhile ~~~~

100% agreed. I know they probably don't do it to keep people from being able to "test drive" and decide they don't want to buy a new champion, but honestly, that's rotten. If they must do that, however, make all but the newest champion available in practice. Problem solved.

I'm sure Riot will implement it once season 15 rolls around and another game lets you change them mid practice tool instead of exiting and making a whole new lobby and loading in...oh wait....

Won't happen for 1 reason: Play a champion and realize you don't like him vs Buy a champion because he looks cool then realize you don't like him but you already bought him.

Sadly Riot won't do anything that may lower sales. Everything has become about squeezing as much money out of us as possible.

They don't even allow all champs in ARAM.

That dissuades people from spending real world money to skip the grind and cold hard cash is worth more than your petty desires.

Hello, Riot Honest Whoeverson here, let me see if I can answer that. The truth is obstructing players form trying champs for free follows in line with the practice of content locking. Why let players get a better feel of what they want to play so that they can decide on just a fistful of champs they want to purchase? No no no, we are Rito buddy, we want YOU to be showered by a plethora of potential purchases without having a concrete idea of how champs feel until you've bought them with real money or a shit-ton of grinding. We've been psychologically coercing people to pay for a decade now, we know how to make even the air you breathe uncomfortable for every minute you are putting into this game for free. Hope this helped.

Smite has all of the gods available for its own practice mode, so I really don't see why we can't have a way to help decide if we want to buy a new champ in this game.

All my thumbs up.

Should be able to have more than one AI in practice tool too
