Honestly, I would like for there to be a frank, open discussion with the balance team about what future they think Syndra should fulfill. She's been eclipsed since the meta she was designed for fell out of the game. Unfortunately, when she does well, she's an oppressive power pick that can warp the midlane meta, so she's a type of problem they hate.
The accessibility updates from the MYMU didn't do anything to solve her problems, just make her less stressful. I would go as far as to argue the W passive change is still unhealthy, but at this point, I cannot imagine what they think is healthy for her.
It's very difficult having any kind of discussion when all I can perceive is her being a champion they don't want to be a power pick again.
I wish she still had 15% damage on her maxed Q :(
I used to main Syndra and for me Syndra's MYMU changes were nerfs. She's is squichy, she needs To take so muck risks to get a kill or stun well in fights. She's easily countered by zhonia anyway, now that all her burst is on her ult
She already can 1shot you with one button, I can't see them buffing her without changing her ultimate.
i like how riot was quick to nerf her when she was good even though she has no passive till she maxes a skill and since you are forced to put a point in another skill at level 3 you cant get it till lvl 4 even then now with the change to her passive all its good for is to make getting 7 orbs on the map to ult with
Maybe this is pretty skewed but I met a challenger smurf in one of my ranked games who completely raped me with Syndra support. Seemed like it had very little counter play but maybe it was just because he was challenger...

Syndra is fine aside from her bugs. According to a challenger Syndra main, she potentially could have had a 55% win rate if it weren't for her ult bug. If you take a look at op.gg she has a 50-52% winrate in Daimond games. Every other league win rate just averages it down to a pitiful 44-47%. Currently I'm a Syndra main in Gold and have a 60% winrate. After experience, all I know is that in DQ, if you are not patient and don't understand how to use your champion in various situations you will have a hard time. Ever since the Syndra changes in the beginning of Season 5, her pre-6 and even 6 itself has been hard to adjust to. Mainly because her play pattern has changed from Q, Q, Q, Q... during laning phase to more dynamic use of combos. You can no longer poke with Q to hope they get low enough for an easy Q-E-R combo. Laning phase is pretty much passive till level 4. Use Q non-aggressively (I use them on melee or caster creeps) wait a few seconds, lineup and E (get stun), W, Q (proc thunderlords). This has been my main form of harassment instead of using Q so many times. Using Q constantly as a form of harassment creates a lot of openings for your opponent to dodge and retaliate. It's not that hard to dodge her spheres so it becomes a waste of mana if you decide to keep playing like before. Also, you have to adapt this play style depending on which champs you face especially against mobile assassins who have different timings of jumping in and out. Failing to hit a combo will leave you out of options and probably dead.
On a side note, it's a team game and Syndra doesn't have much team impact as one might think unless you already had an early game advantage and snowballed. The meta is entirely based on snowballing and currently their are better picks that fit Syndra's role. I don't think Syndra is strong, but I hardly believe that she is weak. The things that bring her down as far as I can tell are MR rush items such as Aegis, Abyssal, and Hex drinker. These items automatically stop her from getting a early to mid game advantage making her rush Morellos to Void. Meaning her burst and potential to get utility items are diminished. Ultimately slowing her scaling.
If you have trouble understanding how to lane with Syndra or don't know how to utilize her properly I would advise looking up Overlord Forte, challenger Syndra main. He has a youtube primarily of Syndra videos and streams from time to time on his Twitch. If you ever have any questions you can ask him. He's also the guy who has posted countless discussions about her bugs.
Idk, her Q radius is pretty damn big. Seems to me like people don't know how to play her is all.
I have to disagree and say syndra is quite fine. Her main spell is on a rather low cd at all ranks. Shes one of the few mages that can cast while moving so even though she can't jump a wall she can run and gun so to speak. Her ratios are solid. Her moves synergize really well especially after the update so now she can effect more of the battlefield at any moment. Her ult is still great at picking people off especially since it can't miss and orbs last longer now. And as far as animations to hit box accuracy goes she has some of the most deceiving. By that I mean her spells effect a larger area than whats shown most notably on her eq combo where the stun box seems quite generous.
I play Syndra and get really good k/d/a with her but never win. She does so much damage though I don't see how she's weak.

I just miss my old 
i never played her but she seems really buggy. sometimes i am outside the hitbox of her knockback stun. and i get hit. sometimes am inside of it and nothing happens
also again even though i never played her she seems extremely clunky.
though correct me if these are misconceptions
she has the damage. but i feel like its hard for her to put it out.
What does she need in your opinion?
They removed a bunch of power from her kit; lowered bases & ratios, ontop of core items being nerfed. She should be a powerful mage since she's short ranged & immobile!
