It's a bit random, but I seem to find myself pondering it every now and then so I wanted to throw it out there. Do you most ENJOY playing generally AD or AP champions? Personally, I enjoy playing AP champions more, probably because I like mages & assassins more than fighters & tanks, but that's just me.
AD melees. Because turret shred.
I like AP more so simply 'cause the AD champions tend to be mostly right click which to me is boring, abilities are the spice of this game and it is where one's mechanical expertise can shine.
I like AD's more (Nasus counts! Kinda!), but usually play AP's.
I like AP simply because the item build is cheaper and a bit more versatile for the ap champs I use.
I prefer playing sexy champions.
With AD if you afk, catching up is so hard. At the same time, if you do not go afk and fully focus on strategic farming you become a god late-game.
I see your team is grouping. Allow me to attack you all. At once.
AP is the only way to go.
Don't have much preference between them, and I will pick whatever balances the comp.
Though Usually, I want to pick someone who can Either Kite the enemy and poke them from range, Or someone who can tank and engage the team. I just don't care much for Assassins and light fighters.
One of my friends, after almost four months I wanna say, had to look up how to build AP champs, b/c they had only ever played AD up to that point.
some reason Ive never played most APs well, even champs like shen and zac took learning, while I picked up zed a long time ago and have been doing very well, even through the large build changes he went through. I can really only play ori and syndra when It comes to mages, akali is my only AP assassin, even so, she is somewhat hybrid.
My Favorite Champions are AD 
, But I hit no preference because it all comes down to their kit and how fun it is to play. 
But AD is a lot easier to play then AP.
