@Riot, a QoL buff for Shen that can easily be done and help his teammates and himself so much.

His ultimate is extremely powerful, and I love it. A decent shield, and you can pop in like Superman to save the day with a taunt. However, one thing that irritates me to no end is when I ult to them, and they keep running from a losing fight, thus taking me out of range of a potential turnaround. Even if I warn them beforehand to watch for the shield and go back in, they fail to notice it because there are many other things to focus on at the moment.

Remember how Zilean's Chronoshift had the same issue? People wouldn't realize they have the buff and be unnecessarily cautious when they could abuse the buff to pull off plays they normally wouldn't. So, you gave a clarity buff by making the screen a lighter shade of color so that the person with Zilean's ultimate would be aware of it.

I also remember when you made TwistedFate's ultimate a little more clear for teammates when you added an automatic "On my way" ping for where he was teleporting, as to alert his allies of where he was headed. It helps with clarity and alerts the team quicker and more effectively than typing in chat "guys, I'm going here, follow up."

Now, I was thinking of adding either one to Shen's ultimate, but why not have both? Think about it.

  1. Shen needs clarity for the target he is teleporting to, so they need a clear visual indicator besides a soft vwoom of the shield in the middle of a chaotic fight where Jinx's barrage of rockets makes it too loud to hear it. And the shield is hard to see if you're getting focused and lose it very soon. So let's add a visual indicator, such as a purple tint and/or action-lines (sort of like the kind you see on Shen's shield, or are those energy pellets?) to their screen so they know their friendly neighborhood Shen is coming to save the day.

  2. Shen's team needs a clear indicator that he's coming in, because the last thing they're checking in the middle of a fight is the mini-map. Giving a ping like that would greatly increase the team's awareness of their tank coming in to fight with them, and would let them react accordingly.

Some people may argue that this would make Shen too strong. I disagree highly. This merely makes him more effective in lower-skill play, where people don't need to be eagle-eyed to play the game. I don't want to have to be in an LCS team to have my bot lane see that I'm effectively losing lane to get them fed. Please consider this suggestion, Riot.
