Why games feel horribly unbalanced?

I understand that either you win or lose but a lot of the time it doesn't feel close.

It's not like top + bot wins and mid + jungle loses so it's somewhat close, It's usually every lane winning or losing. Now this all happens in the laning phase so it isn't lategame macro which is better.

It kinda feels tiresome because I get the feeling that my influence isn't really big because either we all lose or we all win.

There are still games which are fairly close but I notice that there are a lot of stomps and unbalanced matchmaking.

It doesn't really feel competitive to get stomped or stomp a game. It feels like I'm playing a team that's way better than my team or way worse. Like my team is gold and I either face silvers or platinums.

The MMR system, auto fill, and so on effect it. I have noticed my team stomps when we generally out rank the enemies in every lane, and have zero auto fills.

The matchmaking is comical.

Autofill can result in players who don't frequently play a certain role getting stomped by someone who does.

If a player's entire team is losing around them, they may begin to tilt and stop caring about the game.

If a player gets a lead in their lane (especially mid-lane), they may roam to other lanes to get their allies ahead too.

Certain objectives (i.e. First Blood Tower, Rift Herald, Baron Buff) are massive power-spikes which let a team secure a significant advantage (i.e. use Rift Herald to kill two towers rather easily). This can lead to a game snowballing extremely quickly when one objective turns into a 3k gold advantage.

Certain players are incapable/unwilling to play from behind. These are the type who die twice in the early laning phase and either:

  • Keep dying trying to fight their lane opponent
  • Begin intentionally feeding
  • Rage-quit and AFK

Matchmaking screws over one team through autofill (i.e. two autofilled players against none) or overall skill (i.e. 5 Diamonds vs 5 Platinum players).
